Great videos, Sold all of my Canon equipment, and made the jump to the E-M1 & the 12-40 f/2.8, and so far I really like it.

Thanks for a really informative video Jamie. I have purchased the EM 1 with the 12-40 zoom and am blown away with the image quality too. The number of menu options are confusing at first but I am learning to master them with constant use. A live demo on setting up the EM-1 for auto focus of moving wildlife etc would be a good one for the future.

Very helpful video, by the way. The EM1 looks like an amazing camera. I'm debating between it and the A7 - two totally different cameras, of course. Each has such great strengths.

Alexander, I will give that a try some time later this week. I always forget about video since I only use it to make these videos. :) Stay tuned!

Farouklens, The image quality is as good as the E-m5, with maybe a little more dynamic range in the files. I am planning on shooting this afternoon with the E-M5 and E-M1 side by side to see if there is a visible difference.

Jamie, If I use studio strobes with the E-M1 in dim lighting, how can I stop the screen and viewfinder from looking dim?

Great video Jamie well done, I have a question about this new EM1, beside all the stuff that hardly anyone will use do you think it is worth the upgrade from the EM5? Is the picture quality superior worth noting? Thanks for your insides!

Thanks Jamie for the information. Do you have an idea when Lightroom will be able to handle the Olympus E-M1 raw files?

Jamie, could you please let us know how quickly does the EVF switch on using the proximity sensor? Thanks!

Please show how focus system works in video mode. S-AF, C-AF, C-AF+TR and "Touch focus" with screen. For example Touch focus in E-M5 is disabled in video mode(I have E-M5). It's interesting how it working in "contrast" and "phase-detection" mode on E-M1.

Jamie, great video. I'm looking to move over to a mirrorless compact camera from my Nikon D-90, mainly because of size when I'm traveling. Would you suggest the E-M1 as a good choice for this? Also what lens with E-M1 is a good choice for overall shooting? Thanks.

I think the E-M1 would be a GREAT UPGRADE from the D90. And if the budget allows for it I have to recommend the mZuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO lens. It is an incredibly fast and sharp lens. Fast focus and very solidly built. amzn.to/1jQivlz Not a cheap lens but it is weather sealed like the camera so it "completes the kit" in my opinion.

Jamie MacDonald Thanks Jamie. Yes the mZuiko 12-40mm lens is what I was looking at as well. Like you said, expensive but worth it if the budget allows.

Alok Vardya If your budget does not allow for such a luxury I am a HUGE fan of ALL of the prime lenses. I know this limits your use a lot by sticking to one focal length but they such fine lenses. I have all of except the new 25mm. But I have that on its way so expect a full prime lens lineup review before long. But if you want to do some reading swing over to the smallcamerabigpicture website and look for my articles on the prime lenses. :)

Thanks Jamie!! I have a question about the WiFi password. In the camera settings, a password seems to get "assigned"; and if you don't like it you can hit the video record button, and a new one pops up. They are all 8 numbers long - do you know of a way to enter my own password?

I hear a low weird sound every time I press the shutter button. Is that normal in this camera?

It's a shame you can't assign Color Creator to one button and Magnify to another. I wonder why Olympus grouped them together under Multi Function.
