This episode made me smile, especially Hinata's pep talk and encouragement toward Hyakuzawa. I had the biggest grin on my face!! Also Tsukki... 👀 you know what I mean 😉
I am so curious to see the National Team camp athletes playing for their high schools! I think the Spring Tournament is going to be INTENSE!!

    The scene with Hinata and Hyakuzawa is the most Hinata thing ever. Hyakuzawa is super tall and he actually got an invite to the training camp, two things that Hinata should be envious of. But instead of Hinata being envious and resentful of him, he actually gives Hyakuzawa advice to help him improve as a player. That scene just really captures the type of person Hinata is. Instead of knocking people down so he can climb further up, Hinata wants to bring others up with him on his way to the top. It's just so wholesome.

    Well, Hinata is quite clearly envious. However it's the healthy kind of envious. It isn't jealously at all, and he doesn't start to feel helpless because of it. It's the admiration kind of envy.

    i LOVE this ep. Like a lot. We basically get to see what Hinata did for Yachi in a volleyball setting. Which is a huge step for him to actually be able to teach someone else something! Season 2 showed how amazing Hinata is as a person, but this season turns it up a little and shows Hinata applying things he's learned just by watching. I just really love this arc since it's very unexpected. I always feel so proud of him for accepting his position as ball boy, and doing as much as he can with it.

    It’s funny to me how you can dislike Kunimi but like Kenma and Tsuki. They’re the same type of chill personality. I wouldn’t call him lazy, cause he wouldn’t show up to a special training camp to practice if he was. The difference is he doesn’t like wasted effort, and overdoing things. Diving for balls in the very beginning of practice could be seen as a drawback especially if you are planning to practice all day. He’s always thinking while playing too. He’s a calculating role player and that receives well. I’m glad Hinata picked up on it and started to learn from him instead of writing him off that’s why his 2v2 teams were always good.

    About Kunimi: good to keep in mind that this training camp is only open to 1st years, and within just 1 prefecture (Mad Dog is a 2nd year). Also, the translation at 24:36 is incomplete: the coach specifically banned tipping using fingertips, and you can see Kunimi curling his fingers when he tipped, so that was allowed. In one of the more recent interviews the author and the current editor discussed how Hinata has high emotional intelligence, and this was definitely a case in point! And I'm with you on Tsukki at least partly wishing to encourage Hinata there :"D He can deny it all he wants, but he went as far as to encourage both Kageyama and Hinata (in an annoying way) to study harder to make it to the training camp, even though he had there was no merit in it for him x)

    hi sarah!! basically, when shiratorizawa's assistant coach was talking about washijo sensei's reaction to them losing, it was a callback to the season 3, episode 10. it was a very small detail so it's easy to forget, but when hinata scored the final point, there was a scene showing washijo's facial expression to this. he was smliing, almost out of envy (but not really idk), as if hinata's will and determination as a short player resonated with him. that's how i choose to interpret it!

    Don't worry, Sarah. Fortunately, Sakusa is just as socially awkward as Kageyama. As such, I think both Kageyama and Sakusa thought that they just had a conversation. Unlike the other two players and the audience who are watching, they don't even realize that what they're saying could be interpreted in an offensive manner. You're spot on about the fact that Sakusa has a lot of respect for Ushijima and genuinely thought that no team in his prefecture would be able to stop them. Also, if they do have a deeper relationship, then Sakusa has just missed out on his chance to meet Ushijima at the nationals one last time. Also, did you notice that in episode 2 of this season, Washijo tells Goshiki that when he's spiking the way he's going to hit is obvious based on the way his body is moving. I love that in this episode, you see that Goshiki has taken the time improve on that and it is now difficult for even three pretty good middle blockers to tell how he's going to hit just based on how his body is facing In the case of Kunimi, I actually think he is one of the people performing the best at this camp so far. Even Hinata thinks 'he really is good' or 'Kunimi's team is always good in 2-on-2's. Also, he doesn't skip out all the time or in an obvious way. Like Kindaichi says he does try sometimes. He just won't go out of his way to give a 120% all of the time. But especially in a game, he always goes for balls he thinks he can get. Also, remember that not every single person who is good at volleyball wants to be a volleyball player when they grow up. So, there is going to be a difference in the amount of drive and passion. Indeed, Hinata is really like a ball of light. How poetic is that 'Hi' in Hinata means Sun. Fits his character perfectly.

    Honestly seeing a lot of Oikawa in Atsumu (the blonde setter with an attitude) is a pretty fair assestment for your first impression, they do share A LOT of traits both as players and characters, although they also have clear differences. If I had to define him in relation to Oikawa I would say that Atsumu is something like an extreme version of Oikawa, as in, his good traits as a player and character are probably better than Oikawas, but his bad ones are quite possibly even worse, so it can definitely take a while to warm up to him (if you do at all), but if the good parts about him resonate with you, you are definitely gonna love him. Yeah so Kunimi was here because he’s very skilled. But one thing he has that other players forget, is he doesn’t lose his cool. He saves his energy for the very end of a match and that messes with the other team because everyone is low on energy besides him. And he’s cool headed and able to work through things. It’s a reason why Kageyama was jealous of Oikawa because Oikawa was about to see Kunimi’s skill while Kageyama just yelled at him

    Hinata was always "chasing the ball". If he was a player on the court, that's all he instinctively could do. In other words, making sure he doesn't get to play and had to watch the game is a good way to open up his perspective. Force him to see that there was so much more he could learn. One wonders if coach Washijo realized this, in his grumpy way, when he said he was not going to let Hinata join in the camp's practices at any cost. He could have kicked Hinata out at any point. But he gave him an option that clearly benefitted Hinata. Be ball boy, and watch and learn for once, or go home.

That's a great friend to have.

    @MasterPpv Жыл бұрын

    Kudos to Lydia for 13:31 and 16:45 - those both got full on belly laughs out of me 😂 By the way, one of my favorite subtle moments in this episode is at 11:00, when all the experienced / smart blockers, including Tsukki, get fooled by Goshiki into thinking he's about to do a cross shot. Tsukki even thinks to himself how he was sure that it was going to be a cross by the way Goshiki angled his approach and body. They all miss out on blocking the hit... but look who didn't get fooled! Hinata not only correctly read which was Goshiki would hit, he was right in place to catch the ball there when it happened. Personally, I think this is the best example during the entire camp of just how much Hinata's intuition for the game has grown from his dedicated observation. Also, the latter part of this episode really showcases exactly why Kunimi was, in fact, invited to the camp. In a show absolutely chock full of characters who love to "go all out" and put everything on the line every single play, I love the fact that they acknowledge that while that's a great ideal, there's a large amount of important long-term value in maintaining a certain level of consistency that requires lower effort. Like Oikawa said to Kunimi, if you're going to be lazy, be even lazier! But then, when everyone else is tiring out because they've been playing like Hinata and Kageyama do and just putting 150 percent into every play, that's when your still-fresh ass is gonna be working like crazy.

  • @MasterPpv

    P.S. At 25:00 - they're not allowed to tip, but Kunimi was setting there so he did a dump, which I'm assuming is fine under whatever rules they're playing under.

    @preetamozarde5040

    @MasterPpv Umm, I really think that Hinata was just standing there for the straight because people were already blocking the cross. If you notice, he's standing in the same place even before the set takes place. Don't get me wrong, Hinata's intuition for the game has definitely grown, that just wasn't an instance of him showing it. If anything, it's more about him putting the 'moving in sync with the blockers' part of his observation into practice. Since the blockers are going for the cross, he goes for the straight.

  • @MasterPpv

    @MasterPpv

    Жыл бұрын

    @@preetamozarde5040 That's a good point. The growth seems to be more in that he's not freezing up and chasing where the ball ends up but is actively waiting for it where he knows it'll be. Still, it's really awesome to see. Also, Goshiki's ability to be that angled on his approach but still manage to hit a really sharp line is just... *chef's kiss*

    I laughed out loud when I saw those as well. I did NOT expect that! I understand what you're saying about Kunimi, but I'm not sure I fully agree. While Kunimi may be consistent, and has found ways to slow things down, it doesn't mean that his attitude and approach to hard work is right. He is lazy, and in my opinion, people who try to do as little as possible and then "turn it on" are rarely as successful as people who give it all they've got all the time.

    From what I remember from the manga, Sakuza is written more like a germaphobe. On top of that, he applies that to every single level possible so he prepares for everything that could possibly go wrong (which isn't bad) it's just to a lot higher of a degree than most people would expect.

    Honestly, this training Arc is one of the best lessons I had in my life. I am not talking about Anime but life in general. First things first: Though what hinata did was reckless, you often have to try out everything you can if you really want something. Sometimes unconventional methods will provide you a chance you would otherwise never have had. In my opinion, you can reach very much in life just by asking. Even though you might think that some requests are unreasonable, you will be surprised how often people are willing to help you. Proactivity is also very important in life. Next lesson: I actually started playing Beachvolleyball because of Haikyuu. I was very observant the day I started playing and asked others a lot about Tipps on how to improve, because I know how much you can learn from more experienced players. This now not only applies for Volleyball but basically Sport and even every aspect I do in life. Just observe the people doing it better than you, ask yourself where why they are better, what do they do differently from you and how can you you the information in order to achieve what you want. Lastly, in my opinion the most important takeaway: life gives you a lot of opportunities. But often they are hidden. If you end up in a situation that wasn't planned, try to think about what the situation has to offer. Because even when some things don't go the way you want to, don't get frustrated. Be excited about the challenge and try to think of the best you can do in the situation. Since this episode, I have rarely had bad mood and usually had a positive attitude

    Hinata's observational skills and ability to encourage and make friends so easily definitely shows his potential to be a team captain or coach in the future! He also has that sort of Bokuto vibe of pumping up everyone around him! While Tanaka's mental strength would make him an amazing Ace, and Enoshita's strictness and control over his juniors and peers would make him a good captain, Hinata is a first year while all of them are third years so it would be cool to see what a more matured Hinata would be like as a captain/ace! By the way this is pure speculation since I haven't read the manga yet.
