Randy Lewis came to my house and stayed for about a week around 1990 when I was a Freshman in H.S. My dad wanted to bring one of the all time best wrestlers to coach us and teach us a few new moves an any other advice he could give. Not only did he help us with wrestling but also danced on our living room to Footloose a few other songs! My little brother and sister loved it!! Not only is he a great wrestler but a great guy too. Between my brothers and myself we had 4 3rd place finishes and 2 state Championships in the state of Illinois. Thanks for your help Randy.

I'm very happy you got to see this interview. I felt the interview showed his great love for Wrestling and his ability to try and do something which would be out of 99.99% of the populations comfort zone.
His technique is one of a kind. He invites guys to take his leg. Its incredible. Pretty much goes against every thing a wrestler is taught.
I am so amazed and proud that a fellow Rapid City Stevens graduate became one of the all time legends of collegiate and Olympic wrestling. I graduated from Stevens in 1972, and i didn't have the opportunity to see Randy wrestle until i saw him on TV and found out he was from South Dakota. Then later i found out he actually graduated from the same HS i graduated from. He was truly a champion, and i thoroughly enjoyed watching him. I thought that he and John Smith were the among the very best!

I'm sorry I'm so late to respond to your thoughtful comments about Randy. That's pretty neat that you had a close connection to an all time great that we both can appreciate! Thank you Jeffrey.
Love watching this guy wrestle more than any other. Thanks for the vid.

Glad you enjoyed it! It was one of the more fun interviews I’ve ever done!😊
Very few are more talented in the sport of wrestling than Lewis. This was evident when he made his comeback, wrestling with a huge gut. If he trained properly and was in shape for the regionals, no doubt he would have qualified.
Great wrestler, true champion!
Nice to hear an articulate athlete!
