For everyone struggling, it is an "easy" trick to do but one of the hardest to learn, allow me to ellaborate: Most flip tricks are just variations of the Ollie but with a slightly different foot-play to make the board rotate while in the air. If you already know how to Ollie then learning one of these tricks is not *that* hard, compared to learning how to Ollie literally from zero Basically Ollie is at the bottom of the learning curve, but it's the steepest and hardest part. Once you know how to Ollie then a world of posibilities opens for you, so don't be discouraged if you are thinking "it's taking me months to learning how to just fucking jump, how am i gonna learn any other trick?", because it's totally normal. From Zero to Ollie can take months, from Ollie to p-Shove It only a couple weeks and from there to kickflip only days or maybe just an evening. Falling is not a failure as long as you keep getting up. Godspeed to all of you ✌️

I was gonna give this guy since constructive criticism, but this was made 7 years ago. Here it is anyways to help beginners: The front foot needs to be between the bolts and the middle of the board, rather than just the middle. You need to slide your foot forward as you jump, and not just lifted up and brought back down. I hope this helped.

If it helps anyone, here are the takeaways from this video: 1. Place one foot on the tail and the other one slightly over halfway of the board and bend your knees to the point that your thighs are parallel to the floor. 2. Jump and about halfway of unbending your knees completely, start the push and slide motion at the same time while keeping your feet level as to allow the board to straighten up. 3. Try your best to land on the trucks and bend your knees when doing so to avoid injury and minimize impact (as well as even the possibility of damaging your board). Hope it helps! Have never landed an Ollie myself but I’ll keep on trying and hopefully do so soon. Good luck and stay safe everyone! 🤙🏻

On my second day of practicing, I managed to get my board off the ground and do a really scuffed ollie. I'm enjoying it a lot, and I'm finally making use of my board that's been untouched in my garage. It feels good and I'm so excited to improve. Edit: This is my second day of dedicated practice. I had messed around in short bursts spaced between many months, so I'm not sure how much that counts. Either way I'm still pretty proud because that would mean I learned in maybe a combined week.

Dude I had the same problem last week. What helped me was I went on an all day shred with my friends. Cruised about for a bit did some ramps and just got really comfortable going at speed. This helps your balance a lot. Then we went to a little flat ground skatepark with some flat banks and half pipes and rails but it was mainly flat. I was trying to do a nice Ollie all day as mate said if I land an Ollie he will buy me some munch. Now I'm pretty comfortable at ollieing and can Ollie at a decent speed, baring in mind iv been practicing since Xmas. You just need a lucky break. Just practice when your friends are at a skatepark or skate spot all day. Just push yourself. Also what helped me was have your foot a little angled. You know how your toes are angled. Well have them facing straight up towards your hardware as this gives you more balance. You also don't have to slide from the middle of the board. Just slide bellow the hardware or even on the hardware as this helps you get used to the Ollie. Then start aiming for higher ollies. Also straighten your shoulders. You won't get this straight away but if you practice all day you should get it. Don't practice stationary either as that's what originally cause you to land on the nose. Hope this helped you dude 😉

1st, you're not dragging long enough. You have to keep dragging continuously until you land. Your legs have to push the nose when dragging. After u land don't put too much weight on your front foot. That also happens to me.

Seems so simple yet I can't do it argh! You drop a skateboard for 10 years after learning to do an Ollie and now you're screwed, fuck me I can do it on a ripstik which has zero grip and weighs more

Pretty strange, if you are curious you can always check out my trick tip for ollies: The Ultimate Trick Tip: Ollie / Ollieing Higher - How To Ollie I believe that should give you a good understanding on what to do

***** Yeah i saw that and it did help, the thing with me is that i can't land it when i actually do an ollie and when i do land it my wheels barely barely leave the ground. i can get like 4 inches on carpet though. just practice more i guess

Is the problem about ollies while moving? If so that's like a 100% comfortability issue. If you are uncomfortable with starting a trick, your technique is gonna suck guaranteed. You just need to feel comfortable and confident with doing ollies while rolling. When you are, you are able to do all of your techniques that you normally do on carpet. Doing ollies stationary vs rolling are the complete same trick; the only difference is you feel weird with doing moving ollies at first, and that can really kill your performance.

Well i i only tried it while moving once and it didn't go so well, if it was just me not being able to do them while moving, then i would just practice more. I can't ollie on concrete and i can barely ollie on carpet. im pretty sure im doing it right for the most part, i took burst shots of me doing an ollie and my feet seem to do doing the right motions

Oh yeah, if it was your first time then you will be pretty uncomfortable haha. Completely normal. Just practice a lot while moving. Maybe try getting into ollie stance while moving and pretend you are about to ollie, but don't actually ollie. This can help you gain some confidence about it. Once you feel good about getting into the ollie stance while moving, then try the actual ollie. Another thing you can try is to put the board down on the ground, walk back a few steps, do a nice jog and jump on the board and roll away. That would simulate you landing the moving ollie. Anything to feel comfortable here.
