Ollie's Coast to Coast Part 1 - The YOUNGEST crossing ever?

Join Ollie and I as we tackle Alfred Wainwright's iconic Coast to Coast Walk from St.Bees Head to Robin Hood's Bay. This first instalment sees us crossing the Lake District using a combination of familiar paths as well as one or two little extra detours all in the name of Wainwright bagging!!
Unfortunately, the weather was not quite on our side during this most stunning of sections, however Ollies's determination and resilience really came to the fore early on and led me to believe from the outset that he really was capable of completing this epic 16 day challenge.
Having a caravan near Keswick, we were extremely lucky to have 2 nights catered for in our own familiar surroundings, enabling us to keep on top of washing and food supplies, and with the generosity of friends and family on hand to assist with pick ups and drop offs, we were able to reach the M6 crossing with the minimum of fuss - despite Storm Betty's best attempts to hold us back.

You superstars - you smashed it. What an amazing record of your adventures together. Ollie, I can see that your superpower is resilience - very cool. Can't wait to see Part 2. 😊

Thanks David, we absolutely loved it! Yeah not easy but don’t think he saw it as too much of a challenge 🙈 He already had the wild camping bug(see other vids on channel) Just didn’t know if he had the stamina but that issue was felt more by me 😜 Why not subscribe if you haven’t already?? Anyway, thanks again, it was the best thing we’ve ever done!!

Haha 🤣🤣 I set out with no idea whether he’d get past day 1 so had virtually nothing booked. We camped most of it anyway but had to start chasing around booking in a couple of b&b’s and calling in favours from home as we got past half way 😜 Have you done the C2C before? It’s a tremendous walk and a must for anyone’s bucket list if they enjoy hiking. Wishing you luck and I’m going to take a look at your channel since you’ve been so kind about ours. Hope your daughter continues to enjoy her adventures in the peaks 👍👍

@@OlliesDadventures ahhh legend mate really appreciate that. No i was new to hiking and wildcamping myself at the beginning of last year and both my kids have really taken to camping, so we now have an 8 man tent for family camps and i personally have the lanshan 2 for hiking and Banshee 300 for little personal camps i guess. First time doing the coast to coast but i think i've spent about 8 months thinking about it 😂

He did pick up a giant rock before that hence the comment 😜 and I just had to double check the acorn thing as you had me doubting myself there. Think he’s probably done for the year now with the darker/colder nights but I’m looking forward to winter camps personally 🏕️🏕️
