The first time I heard this song, I remember listening to it solely because I liked Olivia Rodrigo and the sound of this song. A year later, I met a guy who became my absolute best friend. We used to sit on the bus sharing AirPods, and he would play this song on repeat. And another year later, he asked me out, dated me for a bit, decided he liked someone else, broke up with me, and left me for another girl two weeks later. Every emotion I felt after the break up is perfectly summarized in this song. I realized the year I spent with him was all a lie and every word and "forever" that he promised me were just words. For a while, I was left very very heartbroken and thought nothing could get me out of this slump unless he came back. The break up is still fresh and seeing him with his new girl hurts, but I've learned to deal with it and let things go. Glad to have had this song to listen to and cry, rage, and smile to.

The most heartbreaking part about this song is you can tell where she gets really emotional as she sings. As a singer, I understand this. This song isn’t just amazing because it’s lyrically and musically genius, it’s beautiful because there’s so much raw emotion invested.

I love the essence of innocence the song has. In parts of the song if you listen closely to lines like “I know if you were true there is no damn way that you could fall in love with somebody that quickly.” It in my opinion portrays the fact that she knows that they were together even before the breakup however she chose denial due to her feelings. The song gives of “I love you so much that I would do anything for you even play blind if that’s what it takes.”

I'm amazed how a teenager can write heartbreak songs looking like she just had 10 heartbreaks. So talented!!!

The song describes exactly how it happed to me. He dumped me at my highest hope for our future. I fight everything for his love but left me no where. I try to survive every single day with tears while seeing him perfectly fine with other people. My heart broke into pieces second time when I saw him show his love contract with a brand new girl in the same coffee shop that we used to go together. It only took him two weeks to date a new girl while my whole world is in darkness and fear. I started to collect everything before our breakup. He avoided showing me his messages and he kept ignoring my messages. He became indifferent and didn’t care at all. I gradually accept the truth and walk away. I decide not to look back, just go forward with my life. He is no longer worthy in my life. I take this as a lesson to love myself and love people who appreciate me. My choir in my school put this song today. Our choir teacher just left us without saying goodbye due to his mental issues and he was that teacher that would always joke around with us. All of us are crying and we all wish we could have said goodbye before he left. Wont be the same without him.

Honestly as someone who went through this kind of relationship I agree that the song is relatable but also extremely one-sided and only sees her POV instead of the reality that people have feelings, they aren't robots and it happens that even during a committed relationship the love fade from one or both sides and eventually they find someone else they love. Not cheating physically even if still in love with someone else means that if they properly break up they at least respect you enough to properly break up instead of actually cheating. As I said before, I can relate to the song and understand it, but I dislike how one-sided it is and how it dehumanised the other person/partner. Complaining about your partner falling out of love and that they "own" you a relationship because you helped them at their worst, making the message seem like they can't break up because you were there when they were on a low emotional point is just egotistic at this point. The song doesn't show the partner to be doing anything bad behind her back if not being a simple human being with emotions who fell out of love and breaking up (which is the right thing if you fall out of love with someone if you are a decent person) instead of cheating, but still call that cheating just because the partner fell in love with someone else even after she was with this person during the lowest points in life. I can understand how annoying that might be, I understand there are many ways to see this song but the entitlement about that part thinking that if you helped them at their worst means they can't leave you feels lowkey toxic.

@@user-uw9js4oy5c it’s my fonts I have. I have an iPhone and if you looks up “fonts” on the App Store it is the second or third one down I think. Fonts keyboard-font and symbol. I tried a bunch but this one gives me a ton for free. You can buy a subscription for more but I don’t use them enough
