The aesthetic of this regular teen world that she created is so spot on with these way of performing without effects, it is so vulnerable and it was very well combined with the lyrics and the theme of her album. At this point, I am convinced her songs aren’t about “that” guy anymore. I think she is just so talented, that she is able to get creative inspiration from others around her. I am convinced she is super happy with her personal life, and doesn’t have to be going through something terrible at the moment for her to be able to channel so much emotion in her performances. There will never be another Taylor Swift, but I’m pretty sure she’ll define a generation the way Taylor did. 👏👏👏👏👏

i think it means she kinda helped him break her own heart. it makes a lot of sense with some of the other things she says in this song and on the album. and it could also mean like she went along with him and all his bad ideas and they made so much trouble, so both their hands were red... but in the end, after all that he still left her and her heart was broken. cause in the song she also sings about how she knew was going down but she thought she was doing it with him and he would go down too so it was okay. but actually he didn’t go down, his heart didn’t get broke. so like they both committed crimes but she was the only one who had consequences and repercussions, she was the only one who “got caught” sheesh that line is so packed and genius. so many different meanings.

This album came out during the last month I was in an abusive relationship with my ex. This song had me sobbing, I truly thought she wrote this song about domestic violence bc i felt like it was speaking to what I felt in my heart especially then.
