One of the things I like most of this show is that when they sing it's realistic when they do, they don't just break into song in the middle of nowhere which for me personally it takes me out of whatever I'm watching.

EXACTLY!!! like in some musicals they start singing without any context. For example- let's say that the main characters friends turned into stone. So u would think that she would weep or something but she freaking starts singing her "OncE uPoN A tIMe" like bruh btw this was taken by Descendents 3 lol😂

@@tristanparedes When there's like a montage of their on-screen relationship, the clips they used of them together were actually videos of them in real life hanging out. I think there's a full video of them playing Guitar Hero online somewhere and they only used a portion for the show.

He could sing and he sung in the second film, but they lowered the keys for his voice so it was better for him. I think he didn’t sing in the first one because he didn’t have a lot of experience singing but by the second one he had time to prepare and take vocal coaching

Tristan Paredes yeah the shut down product after filming the few episodes of season 2 bc of COVID, then Driver’s License came out and all the drama ensued, and then they went back to finish filming

Yes. Zach didn’t sing in the original HSM. Drew Seeley sang for Zach because Zach version didn’t make the cut and he was busy with Hairspray.

He definitely wasn’t doing Hairspray yet, that came years later. They combined both his voice & Drew’s on the soundtrack. Certain parts are his voice.

Nobody asked but: I’m in my mid-20s and looove HSMTMTS so much. Like the random looks right at the camera & “confessionals” give me The Office vibes and i grew up with the original HSM franchise so it brings all those memories back. Plus, the cast is so talented! It’s the only reason i pay for Disney Plus haha

I have never watched a single episode of the original or the new series until now, through you. LOL My high school WAS insanely funded and we had a theater that sat 1000 people. I was not involved in the arts program, but if you were a theater or music person it was a dream come true. It is in a suburb of Chicago. New Trier High School. So far watching this reminds me SO much of my high school. But I am an old bitch, so circa 1989 for me. It's interesting to hear Olivia's voice and demeanor on the show as an actress versus what I have seen as a musical artist outside of the show. She was younger here and you can hear it in her voice.

I skate to Hs and in between classes for college....i've never felt so attacked by him before :(

My friend is in this show! she plays Natalie! I originally auditioned for this show a few years back also, but obviously didn't book the role lol!

*SPOILER COMMENT* The first season makes me cry especially the first episode because he is afraid to say "I love you" which is because of his parents being separated and he obviously has a problem with commitment because of that and it's really sad to watch him struggle to commit to her in that first episode. And just to watch his struggle with his family life throughout the show is so sad to me ☹️

Tristan probably you were thinking of Shawn Mendes when you’re talking about Josh singing. His vibrato and his tone is pretty similar to Shawn but it’s different enough to separate the two.

if you like this, you should definitely watch Julie and the Phantoms too it’s a similar type of show and the music and plot are SO GOOD

I think Julie and phantoms plot is a little lackluster for me, but the music is top tier and most easily beat hsmtmts.

When I 1st started I thought this show would be lie Riverdale cringey but it's actually not that bad

Tristan watching high school drama is the funniest thing ever

Zac Efron wasn't the one who sang the songs in the first High School Musical movie. Drew Seeley did (I know you looked up for it, I just am clearing things up ;)). But then, for High School Musical 2, he realized that he could sing after all and that there doesn't need to be a stunt singer where zac only lip-syncs for the following sequel movies that came out in 2007 and 2008. So he actually sang with his voice for the second and the third movie greatly. I think and I know that he can still sing because he always sings really well each time he gets cast in a musical. By the way, I am a huge HSM fan, I passed my whole childhood watching all three movies on repeat.
