It’s the young Solberg that’s more impressive being able to master an old beast ie the MK2 Escort with 3 pedals and a H-pattern gearbox in an age when even the likes of Daniel Ricciardo n Max Verstappen confessed that they can’t heel n toe

Never has there been a car that sounds any better to this day. I did 3 rallies as a co driver in 1985 in one of these, & the induction roar & engine noise inside the car is something else.

Such a nice gesture for your grandfather and family to remember together for a long time. 🙏4:33 Petter gets nervous when son Oliver torments his beloved FORD ESCORT, that he has started biting his nails. 😄When then Petter takes over the wheel of the Escort, he shows that the beats are still there. Very determined balanced driving by a legend. 😎👍

Such an amazing car and two amazing drivers father and son. I do hope his grandfather gets to see him driving the RAC and it brings back so many memories for him.

The sound is unforgettable - I competed myself in a Mk2 in the mid 80's - but never in a BDA - I spectated on many iconic stages for many years. The noise still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Who would have thought they would be still competitive in all guises 40 years on........

Very nice to see Phil M in the background. Why is watching this type of rally car much more appealing that the new modern stuff?? Don't get me wrong, I love the new stuff with all the tech and aero but 2 wheel drive, lots of angles and a screaming 2ltr 4pot makes such visual appeal.
