This summer’s budget seems to have been built on the sand of flipping Broja, 30, Gallagher, 50, Chalobah, 25, Maatsen, 35, Omari 30. A £170m warchest rounded up with Hall and some loan fees to £200m. 3 of the 5 are currently at the Euros despite their age. With that kind of calibre of player to flip, maybe best to see some evidence of their flipping ability before investing in longer shots?

Agree on all fronts. I'm thinking now that a major investment in a striker is unlikely, the PPA appeal of Gallagher for another year may tempt the owners to overpay him a bit. He's like a "get out of (FFP) jail free card," for the owners while the team structure gets set up. Don't want to play that card unless you need to.

I really like ur analysis a lot n I agreed with u for CFC to keep Noni Madueke whether they were able to sign Olise or not we still need Madueke in the squad because the matches are going to be many n we always needs quality backups incase of injury or fatigue. I'm also of the view that Guirassy 's release clause is very affordable so whether John Duran's deal go through or not I still want our sporting directors to go ahead to. sign Guirassy to bring up some level of experience up front for Duran n Jackson to learn from him going forward.

You realize that we're looking at players from Athletico, Villa and Palace, all potential homes for Connor. I think it's about getting max value for him more than us loving these players.

Aside from being financially not ideal for the approached club to swap, it would be very uncommon for a player from the advancing club to want to go to that exact club, when I’m sure especially in Gallagher case there would be many other options on the table. Maatsen too. You would feel down trodden. The Aston Villa player gets an upgrade and the Chelsea player a downgrade in status. I simply can’t see all three parties aligning. Furthermore, as a trained negotiator, I would assume that both parties think they could purchase at a better price and sell higher. To swap there has to be a clear advantage when dealing with millions.
