Last Line Of Defense I have been looking for a light just like this! I really like the Olight brand as I’ve been carrying the S10R for a long time now. Came here to see if yours had the same weak magnet as mine. My warrior m2r has like 60% of the magnet strength of my s2r baton 2. A bit dissapointed because of that, but everything else makes it worth purchasing anyway!

can you stick on a magnetic disk (the same size as the tailcap button) to make the tailcap protrude for easier access?

Yes you can add a small button magnet to get a larger button. The other commenter has no clue what he’s talking about

I like that this light, and the new M2T take the same batteries as the S1 batons(CR123) k.i.s.s. Any noticeable difference in usage time over the 18650 battery?

I just purchased the M2R, and question if the mode memory is working correctly. If the last mode used is “high” mode ( 700 lumens ), and the light is switched on via the side switch within 10 minutes it remembers high mode. If it is switched on after 10 minutes, it reverts to one of the medium modes. It remembers the two medium modes, moon light mode and low mode. Thank you for any insight!

Quick question: does the M2R also use CR123? I'm trying to switch from my HLX because it's just a bit too fat to carry and I don't like the functionality much, but I still really appreciate the ability to quickly switch to CR123 if my light is failing.

Thyrm wouldn't be great on either (if it'll even fit) - because the tailcaps on either don't protrude. I'd probably prefer this over the 2lx though at 3x the lumen, more battery flexibility, easily rechargeable, more features, etc.

Mike, out of curiosity, I'm a fan of the Switchback by Thyrm you have on the Bravo. Does it work on the M2R? I'm trying to find someone who has both who can let me know before I try picking up the light and another Switchback

On the high/strobe mode, double tap the side switch TWICE for constant turbo. I’d also like the tail switch to do it but it is what it is.

duckandcover1988 the tail switch will do momentary 1500lm in tactical mode. Full press of tail switch will give you strobe in tac mode. Tac mode is activated but pressing the tail switch and side switch until the light flashes. Don’t burn your eyes out!

1 minute in just asked amazon to bring me one £74.99 making it my 5th Olight torch.. man has to have a decent torch. I just wish it was a bit more simple to get the setting you want when you need it.. not have to scroll through settings and not be 100% positive it’s there.. maybe a slide switch or different buttons to get the brightness you want confidently on demand other than that 1st class products.. sorry I have to add the strobe thing always kicks in where you most don’t want it and make you look like **** Thanks for the good vid.

Quick question for Mike or anyone else who may have a pair of Salomon Speed Crosses ; How do they feel walking on solid surfaces like concrete, asphalt, rock etc, do they feel like you’re walking on cleats or just normal shoes with aggressive tread? Thanks.

I received the M2R Warrior a few days ago and I really wanted to like the light. However the tail cap switch is too difficult to push. I'm not saying it is impossible or a strength issue. It is just too much of a pain in the ass to push it in properly and a lot more force is needed when compared to other tail cap switch lights I have. Really have to get my thumb in there good at an awkward angle to get it to function. Guess I'm going to give the HL-X a go.

Yeah, it is awkward to hit the button because it is recessed too much. i like my M2R except for the weak ass magnet.

Does the thrym fit the M2R

Will it short if magnetically stuck on like a fridge?

Thx this review is ridiculously long. . . No light should take 20 minutes to explain. Dude keeps rambling on and didnt even really show the light much. Theres so much he didnt even cover. Why tf does he keep referencing other videos and the entire olight brand. It took him 3 minutes to explain strobe mode. Waited so long just for a shoddy beamshot in a room and of a tree. . . Closeup beamshots are useless since the camera adjusts to brightness. . .

You should get the remote pressure switch and do a weapons light system video.

Would be nice if it used the same 18650 customized that the rest of my olights used .

It's my EDC flashlight, with tactical features and the magnetic charging system is a cool feature.

actually I bought this light from tactical shit in illinois osr some such and it has failed to turn on, or OFF and thats a porb when its on your belt running away while getting super hot. so NO GO

That is strange. I have both the M2R and M2T and neither one has that second function by pressing both switches.

I wish more light manufacturers would offer models with the strobe and say the same model without the strobe and an extra light setting to bridge the gab between med and high settings. I never use strobe.

Have you found out if the M2R Warrior has a timed out function on it? The Baton 3 S30R Olight will only stay on for 3-9 minutes at a time. IF that all makes sense.

They have time out functions to prevent overheating at the high output modes. At the low and medium modes they'll run until the battery dies.

I like klarus, full momentary, full on, a side paddle for strobe and mode

I'm very brand loyal to Streamlight and love my ProTac 1L-1AA because of its versatility of being able to use a CR123A or a AA, but I might consider getting an Olight in the future since I would kind of like something that is both rechargeable and easier to program on the fly. Are the Olights made in the US or Imported?

I too recently got a ProTac 1L-1AA. It has been pretty good...but recently found out it won't work when I put in a CR123 (have to talk to Streamlight). The thing I really like about this Olight is that it fills the role of "tactical" light and "utility" light...while my Streamlight is only programed as high output "tactical".

I cut my s clips with come wire cutters and then sand then round works really well

Is this a good lamp for a mechanic

I kind of like this flashlight, but I think there are too many modes and special settings. I like simpler user interfaces, like the one of the TN12

They make great lights. The problem is they have totally unresponsive customer service. They do not reply at all. I've noticed other comments with similar observations. Hopefully, I won't have an issue.

Lol, everyone is freaking out over a MISSING FEATURE. That isn't. Olite made the mode you're looking for an Easter egg. Double clicking the side button, instant high mode. Do it again, turbo mode. The reason they make it hard to do is that high of a draw for very long isn't good for the battery, and I'm guessing the heat diffusion can't keep up, so it'd end up cooking the electronics if you left the light on turbo for a long while.

Hey Mike. Great video, I have been waiting for this one. just a side note you could have a warning about the strobing light for people with sensibility. I know is kind of obvious when watching this kind of flashlight review but is thoughtful none the less.

After only 2 months my warrior x pro failed and chloe at customer service refused to help.I'm out 200 dollars cuz I bought the pressure switch too but I'm glad I had this failure now rather than in a fight since this light was on my go to rifle. I switched back to my 10 year old sure fire that still rocks like a champ but stuck having to replace all my lights on my weapons being I was a huge olight fan and put them on all my rifles and pistols. Olight is not battle ready gear and if u can't trust your gear u already lost the fight so use at your own risk. Me personally I'm tired of seeing people get screwed by companies I'm a little mad at olight, they didn't even try to help even after I asked about paying them to repair it so I could at least use it around the house or camping instead of having a 200 dollar paperweight. I just can't throw it away it's still brand new and the cheap skate in me won't let me. Maybe I can find someone who can put better internals in than what olight used either way shame on you olight!

Dug out my M2R, sorry 3 years later but press and hold side switch and ramp up to your highest mode and stop. Now double click side switch again and it goes into turbo.

For go direct to 1500 lumen constant turbo you have to turn on the light with the side switch, if you are in a lower level from high of 700 lumens you can go direct to high with double click side switch and if you do a double click again you go from high to 1500 lumens constant turbo !!!!!!
