우크라이나 렘베르크 출신 작곡가 예브게니 오르킨 (1977~)의 작품으로 우크라이나 전쟁 희생자들을 기린다. 23년 3월, 도이치 오퍼 베를린에서 지휘자 옥사나 리니우와 우크라이나 청소년 오케스트라에 의해 세계 초연되었다.
음악은 무조로 시작해 단순한 선율이 내뿜는 긴장감을 끊임없이 쌓아가며, 점차 확대되어 마침내 장대한 절정에 이른 뒤 끝난다. 외로운 기도와 목소리가 솟아올라 구름에 부딪힌다. 목소리를 뒤덮은 구름은 얼핏 보기에는 꿰뚫을 수 없을 듯하다. 그러나 그 목소리는 이를 비집고 말하기 시작한다. 상념과 느낌, 기억들이 공간을 채우면서 우리에게 이야기를 들려주기 시작한다.
A work by composer E. Orkin (1977-) from Ukraine, commemorates the victims of the Ukraine war. This piece had its world premiere 2023 March at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, conducted by Oksana Lyniv and performed by the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. The music begins atonally, constantly building tension through a simple melody that gradually expands and eventually reaches a grand climax before ending. A solitary prayer and voice rise, striking the clouds. The clouds, seemingly impenetrable, are soon pierced by the voice that begins to speak. Thoughts, feelings, and memories fill the space, starting to tell us their story.
