My Condolences & Deepest Sympathies .

I spent so much time listening to/singing this song while in a long-distance relationship with my boyfriend back in 2000... He was in Calgary, Alberta and I was in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This was back before FaceTime and Skype. My arms would ache from wanting to wrap them around him. I cried sometimes from missing him. Every once in a blue moon, I'd wonder why I was putting myself through all this. ::smiles:: We will be celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary in May! I've been happily acclimatized to Alberta winters since 2004 ^_^

This classic will never get old its definitely legendary and will live forever.

This song was played at my grandma's funeral. Her funeral was today, and today was her birthday. She would have been 98. "Get Here" touched my heart. I get emotional listening to this song. It's peaceful, genuine, and true. You learn how people are and whose really there. My grandma was the matriarch in our family. She lived through history: the great depression, world war II, the civil rights movement, covid-19, etc. Grandma was always there and ready to help and support every way she could. I'm glad she's at peace with my best friend, God. Grandma is an angel watching over us. Her spirit and legacy forever lives on. R.I.P. Grandma Elnora, until we meet again. I don’t normally read comments but the song touched me- on another level and listening and reading and seeing this I feel what you feel my grandma was everything to me she will always be everything to me she was glued to my family she was the heart of the family and yes your grandma is an angel watching over you she has never left your side she will forever be there in your heart and whenever you need her you will feel her around you and I’m sure just as my grandma is proud of me your grandma was proud of you as well- to the person that you are today the person that you were before the journey that you’ve come into into your whole life your grandma walked you through it to get to you where you are right now^ there’s something about grandma‘s that are so beyond words but I’m so thankful for the time that I had I am blessed beyond even though she’s not physically here anymore she will always be here spiritually just as your grandma will be to^ throughout your life , your grandma will be by your side! Do you know it’s amazing that you actually said sugar sweets and love because my grandma said it takes sugar, sweets and love turning in our hearts to make the world go round, three ingredients, in one person‘s heart to another makes a whole recipe! Each person comes out differently, your grandma‘s legacy Is you! You were that sugar sweets and love , that she made exclusively for you I know that this comment was a long time ago but hopefully this will reach you’ but just know she’s always smiling over you and she’s with you no matter what and whenever you need her just close your eyes take a deep breath, hold out your hand and cut out for her you don’t need to use your voice , she can hear you calling from your heart, and you will feel her, I feel my grandma all the time but I know in those really dark days I go , shut the door I light a candle and I close my eyes and I take a deep breath, and deep in my heart, I cry for her, I can never ever thank the Lord enough for giving me such an amazing wonderful grandma that showed me true unconditional love , and thank you Simone, for reminding me, what everything is really about, I needed that deeply, I believe that we are drawn, into certain people, certain places, certain things for a reason sometimes we don’t know if that moment but sometimes we figure it out and sometimes we learn, but I believe I was meant to find this to remind me. God bless you and your family, always cherish each other and no matter what we go through in life never stay angry at the people we love. My grandma always taught me there’s no room in your heart for anger for love always find a way out, no matter how hard you push it down no matter how hard you try to hide it you cannot hide your light. I dedicated this song to a man who I fell in love with who recently passed away. We lived on opposite sides of the country. We developed a close relationship just through talking and video chats. When he became ill and landed in the ICU I decided to finally take the trip out to visit him. He passed a month ago and this song makes me cry. I did a cover and posted it on my KZread channel.

This song makes me cry every time

I remember tearing up when they played this song during the gulf war and there were soldiers' messages interspersed with the song. Her voice is haunting. First time I ever heard of her was in Houston when I lived there and I heard her version of Don't let the sun go down on me. I just had to find out who that beautiful voice belonged to💜💜

Although, we are going thru hardships my wife, I love you with all of my heart, body, and soul. Just know that Im hoping and praying for your return, where you belong, if its God's will. I want you back in my arms again. Our love may not be perfect, but my love is perfect for you. I never meant to hurt us or hurt you like this. I did the same playing this song when my kid brother lived abroad. I couldn't torture him with my cooking. I had never stepped foot on a plane until I flew to visit him and meet his beautiful family. I was so excited I didn't think of my fear of flying. Hours on a plane for the first time.
