Olessia Dudnik (URS) - Europeans 1989 - Balance Beam Final
Olessia Dudnik (URS) had the most difficult routine and all in a perfect
execution. She should have scored a 10,0 but the judges gave her only a 9,975....
This meant at least the Gold Medal - she shared the European Title with Gabriela Potorac from Romania.

If she did this now she would kill the competition on beam. Judges are so harsh on flow (moving from one move to the next) along with difficult acro + dance moves, that she has it all to win gold. I wish this type of creative gymnastics would come back - the Valdez into the leap and little flourishes
It is exciting to see that final applause !! .. Svetlana's hug ... the round off + full layout is beautiful, she had an incredible elegance, talent, flexibility and style !! Olesia is one of my favorite gymnasts
Gymnasts of today need to watch this, its exactly what beam is about.
Wow, unbelievable..what a pitty that Sanne Wevers didn't watch her. Otherwise she could have learned how to jump. Olessia combines artistry AND technical skills, it's wonderful to watch.
Unfortunately she had a tiny wobble after her full turn but if I was a judge I would have given her a 10. Boginskaya clapping is nice because she knew she was the best in this case. There really was noone else who compared, even Boginskaya and Silivas' absolute best were still not as good as this. She was clearly the best and should've won on her own.
The craziest thing is how she starts her Arabian, from that unstable one leg balance thing. Freaky good. If she started from a still position and made sure her hips were square, that would make sense. But this? And triple twist dismount??In my opinion, especially for those times, it's the best beam routine I have ever seen.
This routine should have been a 10 hands down, then they give her a 10 for her much weaker routine due to the very bad landing on the dismoutn in team optionals at worlds. The judges are weird sometimes. I guess she wasn't a "name" yet but was by the time of worlds.
I'm speechless this is unbelievable absolutely perfect beautiful performance ❤😀❤
I mean she wasn't perfect, her splits were not even close to 180 degrees and her leg form was horrible and crooked. Still given the standards of the time and the insane difficulty, she should have won. Thank god for the new scoring system.
How can you not love this gymnast. In just a short time, she has shown what she's made of. She has the same demeanor as anna pavlova but the best difficulty relative to her time as simone biles even though she is injury-prone like Larisa Iordache.
My all time favorite routine. Unbelievable what this girl did, and with this elegance and perfect execution on top of it. Sigh.
This video in high quality 😍😍
Beautiful this is gold 🥇 even now days 🤸🏾♀️🤸♂️🤸🏼🤸🏾♀️
Best beam performance ever! ❤ 🎉🎉
Maravilhosa apresentação, muito técnica, precisa e cheia de graça. Parabéns! Que saudade das traves dessa época
What a joke. I have seen so many beam routines over the years score a perfect 10, yet this amazing routine was one of the best ever and receives a 9.975. Shame on the Switzerland judge with a 9.9. I hope they were publicly embarrassed.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DISCIPLINE! ESPECIALLY THE LAYOUT FULL, AND TRIPLE TWIST DISMOUNT!😳🤸🥇
Love this gymnast!!!❤❤❤
Great I love this routine
Крутая наша девочка🥀
