I got an oled at launch. I have all the switch consoles. Surprisingly though the v2 model still looks great picture quality wise and battery life is great on it. The battery life on the oled and v2 model is impeccable though.

Man, to sit and play in that position for almost 8 hours, twice. Not even mentioning the other runs, thats some dedication. I am pretty sure I have a v2 but most of the time its docked lol. I think I've run it low on battery a few times when I first got it but not too much anymore

Yeah I really didn’t know what I was getting into when I started this haha. Yeah thankfully I swap between handheld and docked enough that my switch rarely dies.

Thank you so much man!! I was real stressed about the music last night but things fell into place thankfully. The 3 tracks I tried just seemed to work! Really taking a big risk there though using music from Splatoon, Hollow Knight, and Zelda hahaha

Thank you!! I’m really surprised at how much more battery the OLED got! I’ve been working on this video since last October lol. The game footage shown was recorded in Feb and I think some takes that didn’t make it were recorded in November. But I realized the JoyCon hadn’t charged with the switch so I scrapped it. This time I made sure the JoyCon was fully charged and the same ones otherwise it could reduce the switch play time.

Very interesting video! Just got the Splatoon Oled n sold my V1. The battery definitely doesn't last anymore especially on online games and plus they bright so guess even that makes a difference

I also think it could be due to our internet connections and data and I too believe it has something to do with the games and displays and brightness. Great job in this video! My Animal Crossing can last me into the next day because I work a lot and deal with the family and my youtube channel. so it could last me days without dying. I do play on my switch tho! Just not like a 9-5 tyoe thing, lol

Excited for your review on NieR Automata when it's released on Switch. Hope you add an Accessibility category when reviewing games. Mention if the UI and Text are scalable. Is there a Color Blind mode. Are all dialogues in game dubbed so that we don't have to read them? Are the in game subs costumizqble? ect. Cheers from Philippines!

I have a switch lite (got it March 2020) and now that i have a monitor, I'd like to upgrade to a console that can actually switch (imagine playing MH Rise on the lite since release 👀) and i was debating between oled and v2 switch. Now that I've seen this video anf the pokemon oled is coming out, i think I've made my final decision. Thanks!

OLED is for sure the way to go if you have a switch lite. If you had a V2 already, I wouldn't say it's worth it unless you play a lot of handheld and you'll get the benefits out of it. When I bought mine, I regretted it on the car ride home, but then I turned it on and started playing games...the difference was incredible.

I have the OG model and playing the new pokemon it slurps the battery. Maybe need to see how much these sell for and get the OLED. I just wish they improved the cpu/gpu more since it had been nearly 5 years since the switch came out.

@switchunboxing I got a deck it is pretty amazing. Around 3x the performance of the switch. Very few games struggle run on it(cyberpunk for example). A new switch that can be close to that performance level would be fantastic.

@@Jtwizzle It's about 4 times faster than the switch in docked mode and about 7 to 8 times faster than the switch in handheld. Still prefer the switch though.

@@kninezbanks Idk where you got those numbers but im seeing 4x in handheld and 3x in docked. I like them both but still use the switch for exclusives or where size is a concern.

@@Jtwizzle Switch has 256 shaders, it can clock up to 307 to 460mhz in handheld, around 157 to 235gflops handheld.......768mhz in docked, around 393gflops......Steamdeck is 512 shaders at 1600mhz....around 1600 gflops. So all in all.....1600/393 is 4.07 times faster in docked. 1600/393 and 1600/157 is 6.8 to 10.2 times faster in handheld. I still prefer the switch, the next version will be beastly though. can't wait.
