    Ole was grumpy but honest. Hard but fair. Made alot of wrestlers wealthy ! Road warriors especially!

    Hawk and Animal all time favorite wrestlers and tag team. RIP Mike Hegstrand better known as Hawk 1957-2003 and Joe Laurinaitis better known as Animal 1960-2020. Followed them most of their career since summer of 1986.

    Mad Max was shown in 1979. The Road Warrior was shown in 1981 (Sometimes called Mad Max 2)

    The second movie was Mad Max 2 in all markets outside the USA, where it was called The Road Warrior.

    Ole may have been a grouch but he understood professional wrestling. The Road Warriors debuted in Georgia in 1983. They were Pro Wrestling Illustrated tag team of the year as rookies.

    He's a national treasure? He made the biggest blunder in wrestling history......he told Mark Callaway no one would ever pay a dollar to watch him wrestle and let him leave go to WWF. The rest is history....the Undertaker is possibly the G.O.A.T

    Grumpy Ole Anderson, may you rest in peace. This was a difficult interview but it's worth it to know more about the Road Warriors! You could tell he took pride in discovering Hegstrand.

    Olie comes off as a harsh guy and maybe he is but his mind for this biz was very peculiar but it worked. He also from what gather was not a man to beat around the bush he was straight forward and to the point none of them s behind your back politics. This is just my opinion if him tho idk him on a personal level.

    So, I guess when he told Mark Callaway no one would pay money to see him and he went on to be the Phenom the Undertaker he was on point. Ole Anderson was a complete jerk

    @@marcopolo7768 yes because we're all so perfect no one should ever make a mistake with all the crystal balls on sale these days. Hind sight is 20/20 young man so it's easy to condemn after the fact. And let's be honest even Mark would admit he had no talent back then and if it wasn't for the taker character MacMahon was going to pass on him also.

    Ole is EXACTLY right. I was watching Hawk and Animal since, I'd say, about '85. When "Iron Man" hit, you KNEW that whoever were the unlucky bastards who were facing them were about to experience legalized murder. Even BEHIND the scenes, a lot of these poor schmucks would see their names on the card against the Warriors, and they'd grab their bags and leave town. I can't stress how DOMINANT the Warriors were; we thought they were unbeatable. And we LOVED them. When they joined the WWF the first time, I DREADED how Vince was going to portray them. And I turned out to be right.

    I liked the Road Warriors look before the shoulder pads. I still liked them when they got the pads , just thought the look was lame.

    @@johnthegreat that was when they first started. In between the village people look and the cartoon look. When hawk would pop the neck collar off by flexing. The makeup looked more like war paint .

    And the Road Warriors may have never existed and we may have never got to see one of the greatest teams of all time had it not been for Matt borne getting fired for being with an underage girl because it was supposed to be he and arn anderson being managed by precious Paul and winning the tag Turney that may have been the Crockett cup not sure on that part
