I always loved how Kamelot defied all rigid categories and went their own way. Their sound was just "Kamelot". And even with the changes and the new, more modern side of Kamelot, they're still unique and absolutely fantastic at that.

this song is amazing. Their albums are always continuous stories. So powerful.

Oh Kamlot???? I used to listen to them a lot in my younger days. The album Karma is still one of my favourites.

I dont know March of Mephisto its pretty grungy. They have a number of old songs that are this way.

I've always found this as well, there is always a wide range on songs on their albums, well balanced IMHO.

Agree, don't think this is really a new sound for them. It is a great song, though!

tommys vocals on this song specifically to me reminds me a lot of roys vocals on certain songs he sang while in kamelot, namely march of mephisto (the black halo) and the great pandemonium (poetry for the poisoned)

This new Kamelot is very similar to the current status of Within Temptation in their sound... only difference is Tommy versus Sharon. IMHO. I think a collaboration effort would be fantastic

Their new drummer is really amazing. Listen to the solo/duett with Oliver on "I Am The Empire - Live from the O13". They throw in a bunch of jazzy/jazz fusion sounds and fills. It's crazy - not just your typical machine gun power metal drumming. And already on this first single, he does a lot of tasteful stuff.

Ragarding new music we can expect, don't forget Ayreon. Arjen has posted the first hints for new music later this year. And I have to look more into Kamelot...

If you like Tommy's voice you need to check out seventh wonder if you haven't. FYI (if you didn't know) It's the band he was (still is) part of before he joined Kamelot. New album dropped last year in summer. Every album is amazing. Genre: PowerProg

Great song, but pretty much what I'd expect from Kamelot. Nothing much new IMO. A lot of their old songs sound as gritty. Kamelot never has been pure Power metal either. They've always been a mixture of symphonic, power and prog metal.

I don't like it at all. I miss the old sound. Really disappointed
