My husband's great grandmother was a Blackfeet native American. There was so much prejudice against the native Americans in the 1920's and 1930's that his great grandmother's name was not allowed on his grandfather's birth certificate. Her name was pencilled in the corner. Her name was Lottie. That is all we know about her name. Don't know who her parents were. Very sad. We have a wonderful 10×8 black and white photo of her from around the 1940's. She looked like a precious woman. Very hard working. Thank you for this video.

I love your story about your family, it makes me sad how even in 2024 how prejudice still exists amongst anyone who doesn’t look the same as you, doesn’t have the same beliefs, religion etc. , I only hope some day in my life time more people will see the value in those differences❤

I'm Brazilian, and I've been researching North American tribes for many years. When I first read the story of Wounded Knee Creeck I would never have imagined that I would one day see a video about the ghost dance. I thought only the Paiutes danced it under the influence of Vovoca (The Paiute Messiah), but I saw the Sioux and I couldn't contain my emotion. I have no words to thank the creators of the video. Only the music doesn't seem right.

Thank you so much ♥️ As a person who has roots in the Cherokee tribe, I feel my heart ache and my eyes filled with tears✨The documented traditions from our Elders ❤ Prayers up 🙏to all who have been stolen from their families, friends and life as they knew it. 💔🔥🦅✨🥁💨

Me too. I've always felt my Cherokee roots, but when I got older, I got our families role numbers. No one believed I was Cherokee, because I got the lighter skin. They believe it now. Lol. I've always felt our ancestors spirits, going to ancient sites, I get overwhelmed with emotion, especially if the ruins are destroyed or vandalized. I believe Native People would still live in those beautiful, fertile canyons, if people would not have ran them out. My family walked "The Trail of Tears". Natives were treated so horribly. Still are, in some places. I'm proud of my families Native heritage.

The music is VERY distracting. I understand that many of these are silent and you're trying to sell something but it really takes away from the marvelous video putting music in that you know is not being played in what we are watching. I'd rather have it silent than hear false music that doesn't match what's being played even it is native music. Also, the 1977 clips surely had sound? How ancient you trying to make me feel? I'm old but not that old. Jeepers. I would have liked to have heard the sound it actually contained. As well as any of the others that weren't silent and the silent should have been left silent.
