Old WCA Regulations were INSANE
if it was my choice, i would make the regulations have a rule where you had to hit the griddy every time you walk up to a podium, but unfortunately i cannot write the rules, and unfortunately the old rules were kind of bad
also, the thumbnail is not clickbait, the illegality in the thumbnail is that i was sitting down

Hey whats up youtube, NRG Luke Garrett here.
I must say, the "allow to push Clock pins in inspection" is an AMAZING regulation for organizers. It makes it so that Clock basically has almost no incidents, making it very fast to do. I now always include Clock in my comps for the same reason I include 2x2, Pyra, Skewb and Sq-1: they're fast and take little time, so they don't alter the schedule too much (if you have good scramblers ofc)

LOL Carter you're awesome
Articles 6 and 8 got deleted. There's also a note that regulations are not reassigned when they get deleted.

mbld did not used to have a timelimit, which meant people would memorize for 4.5 hours straight.
more funny stuff (years are just whatever year i found them in first): the judge should _mentally_ count (part of) inspection. like in their head even though they have a stopwatch. (2006) if the organizers want they could make a round where you don't have to participate in the first round to participate in the second round (2009) screw it 2x2 best of 1 (2017; see 6.25 Bay Area 2017) uh 90 minutes FMC? i hadnt heard of this until I just looked now (2004) "OKAY" (2022) the whole old inspection system was funny but i think that's pretty well known (2006; best seen through video, e.g. stefan pochmann's 9.05 clock wr single is on youtube) there shall be an election for new wca events every year in January and February (2008) 2/2 mbld beats 99/100 mbld (2007) other stuff: NSM Thailand Rubik's Cube contest 2009 was one of those closed competitions (only for Thai students). also 2 rounds of 3x3 over 3 days sounds like the correct amount of time that would take right there's a regulation history page btw you don't need to use the wayback machine thanks for reading long comment by me
