I would have much rather been alive for all of this. Fleetwood is not like this, and hasn't been for some time. Such a shame.

Brilliant. I remember all that after 26min in. Fleetwood was paradise for me as a youngster. Remember Professor Grey on the prom, the old rogue would sell you a lucky Buddha, if I remember rightly. Always moaning about a butcher from Burnley who won £10,000 on the pools with his Buddha - "......and never gave me another penny" I could go on and on, great days to be young.

Fantastic video from a Knott Ender, used to go over the ferry in the early to mid 60’s and go on Corrigan’s, and can still feel how cold that water was at Marine Gardens open air baths. Sadly neither Knott End nor Fleetwood have the same attractions

Thanks. Ken Wright was the music tutor at Fleetwood Sea Cadets, and thanks to him, we won the national band contest for 10 years running. I never knew he made films, but it was great seeing him again. A really nice bloke. Plus seeing Fleetwood as I remember it when I was young. Imagine trying to get those floats down Lord street now. There would be some pointless parasite with his risk assessment, refusing to allow it without a ridiculous level of insurance. I hope some more films appear

Took me back to the 50s. The band were national champions and led the parade on Mayoral Sunday.

Very good. Guessing this was the mid to late 60s as there is reference to the M1 but pre decimal prices.

6:50 - 7:37 This is not Fleetwood. Never was. I don't know where it is but it's definitely not Fleetwood. [Edit] From 7:37 - 26:25 Yeah, definitely not Fleetwood also. No way was the dockyard area of Fleetwood able to accommodate ships of these size. 26:25+ Yes, this is Fleetwood. 28:40 Oh, ho ho. Corrigans. I worked for them for about a week around 1982. Let's just say my telling them to shove it was by mutual agreement - they sacked me for "torturing" their dog for playing ball with it without their permission. I'm not joking. 😂 37:25 - 38:35 Such lovely scenes of kids being introduced to the sea and encouraged to play in it - just like my earliest childhood memories.

In the carnival procession sequence, towards the end, the building to the right of the Chronicle office seems to have a name like “Georgian Arms” - does anyone remember it?

Whereabouts is this in Fleetwood, I'm joining the Nautical College in September and would be interested in where the Sea Cadets were.
