Actually this may have been a mistake. The one I bought had great audio. The one my cousin bought had sucky audio. I have no clue someone please let me know if this is a mistake or not

@@Ninnintender You can get sd cards on portable version and high pitch all of the music and then normal music.. Easy right? Well.. Of course but a little hard to do

My parents got me one of these but the shape was Sonic's head and the controllers/games had "motion controls"

My sister gave me a portable version of the atgames mega drive as a gift in 2013/2014 and the sound quality was also exactly like the mini console

If you still have it, you can get a fan made firmware patch that lets you run roms off the SD card with the correct pitch.

I feel like Scott the Woz is a big influence of yours.

I’m definitely influenced by the structuring of his videos, though I focus less on humor.

Finally young avgn and young scott the woz teached atgames an lesson.

AtGames Genesis can sometimes make themes sound cool, my favorites are: Angel Island and Mystic Cave.

In the Sonic 2 Special Stage when hearing it on the Atgames Genesis I can hear the original Sonic 2 Special Stage from an actual Sega Genesis screaming to let them out of the Atgames system

Atgames has long since made up for their sins with the Legends ultimate Arcade and Legends pinball table

I have my very own Atgames Genesis, I've had it for a fairly long time. And yet, I have never heard of Fish Story.

@@FigureFarter Sadly, no model 1. The one and only ebay shipment that was bought for me was a worn, 2007 thomas gets tricked case. But I like collecting dvds so it isn't a problem.

I just bought the AtGame Sega system at a 2nd hand store that came with corded controllers and without the 80 games for 10 bucks. I didn't know there was one with 80 games and wireless controllers.

My AtGames Genesis Controller was wired.

Some variants were released with wired controllers. The one that I got back in 2013 had wireless controllers so I wanted the video to be more authentic to my original experiences with the device.

Well I can’t really test it now because it’s destroyed lol. I also never actually tested the device with an original genesis controller, I just heard that it worked with it online and I just assumed that it would work because it had the controller port. So I don’t know if the c button works.

It could actually be a problem with your controller. Buttons on old game controllers tend to get dirty so maybe you might have to clean the inside.

Call me crazy. But I love the Atgames Genesis. At the time they were selling it, it was like buying a Genesis for 40 dollars. And the audio quality kinda grew on me. I think some of the tunes can still be groovy on this console. And if I hadn't discovered this back in my Elementary years, I wouldn't have been introduced to other Sega games aside from Sonic. But you probably shouldn't take my word for it, because I'm speaking purely out of personal experience.

@@Ninnintender While I feel you did over exaggerate, that's what makes the video funny. Your performance reminds me of a family friendly Doug Walker. Over on the Nostalgic Critic channel, Doug has a stroke over a movie or show that's not even that bad. And you also kind of remind me of Radical Soda. Personally, I like this video.

You know, I asked this console for Christmas like you, the disappoinment was huge..

That will be cool there's a sticker of an AtGames Sega Genesis Classic Game Console is destroyed right

In 2014 I paid $49.99 cdn and at the time it was half price, from a bed bath and beyond, I only use actual wired controllers and that helps, the firecore games are hot turd and there are sound issues all over the place. It's a great way to get introduced to the console if you can get past the sound issues. Until I get an actual model 1 this will do. Yes the new Genesis mini is way better but there are still sound issues/ delays with a few games even on that much newer console, seems no one can get the Genesis sound perfectly across the board for emulation, not even m2. Yes there is a fix for it but it comes from the modding community, not m2 or Sega.

Hey great video i am gonna tell you something do you know why the atgames sega genesis sound chip is bad well the sound cip its like the normal sega genesis sound chip but its at the low pitch

Tip hard to remove cart pull from one corner it works better

i have 3 of the audio things and it sounds good

I have this. But the controllers are wired (which I prefer). Some games like GOLDEN AXE, COLUMNS, and SONIC SPINBALL are pretty cool. The cartridge slot allows you to play SG games you still have. I was happy to be able to play FATAL FURY 2 again.

I had one of these and it absolutely sucked. Audio quality was HORRENDOUS, Sonic 3 save data got wiped frequently, wireless controllers sucked, the other 40 "bonus" games were average at most and boring at worst, etc. Eventually swapped it for a Genesis 3 and later that for a Genesis 2. Probably for the better considering that the AtGames Sega Genesis... thing... seemed like it came straight from hell to torture us human beings for our mere existence.

Im nostalgic for this actually..... Just hate the glitchy games and inferred controller

Do you know what is funny? I was able to get a fake Megasis from china for a cheaper prize than this. (Think it was around 30$) Yes it also had AV out, but it came with two pretty decent wired controllers, over 150 games which are all real, and the sound emulation is SPOT ON. And while you are not meant to, it might even be possible to modify it to play real games. There are some bad clones out there, but if know where to look you will find some alright ones. Spoiler: This Atgames clone is not one of them

Honestly, i have no idea why Sega did that. Glad to see that they have both moved on somewhat since then. (They both have better offerings now)

I personally disagree this game is not the best for me

I never had any interest in the AtGames Sega Genesis consoles. Thank goodness Sega actually made a Genesis Mini later on and had the games ported by M2. They did a good job with other games like the Castlevania Anniversary Collection and the Advance Collection.

The AtGames? MegaDrive? I don't think it was released here in Taiwan

I got this for Christ,as bout 2 years ago and I thought it was cool but now it kinda... still a bit good but my only problems with it is 1 the music 2 they have sonic and knuckles but not sonic 3 and I don’t wanna buy sonic 3

Incorrect. The sega genesis came out in 1989, and it came out in Japan as the megadrive in 1988. Most of its lifespan was during the 90s, but it came out in the late 80s, so it is a 80s console.

I actually agree with you on this. I feel like I extremely over exaggerated what I actually felt about the system. I still think that the atgames genesis is awful but I really didn’t feel that disgusted about the console. In future videos, I plan to not act like that and be far more laid back. If I review something bad, I will still show some anger about what I’m reviewing but not to the really unnecessary level that I took to in this video.

I cant the console on my new TV when I have av cords when I plugged the av cords to my LG TV to My console I won't work I can't move the screen the screen works but the controllers won't work when I unplugged the av cords I made static to my TV until I unplugged all the av cords. My childhood is gone now its a piece of trash.

The STH Music and Sounds just sound like some dumb music that an Old Bad STH.EXE Remake would sound in my Opinion.
