We put the firebox face out of large, long stones. They protrude from the masonry of the fence by 30 cm and are kept in the masonry by laying their bodies in the depths of the fireplace and proper dressing with other stones. Below, under the firebox, 3 persistent steps: each subsequent is slightly longer and wider than the previous one.
Also, the fireplace insert protrudes from the outside of the fence. She successfully fits into the laying of the fence. It protrudes from the bottom with a sharply small semicircle, which tapers up. This ledge helped to make the correct dressing of stones and a support from the boards. We put stones on the props, and when the solution was set, they removed it.
The upper bar was small in length. That is, it is approximately equal to the width of the fireplace insert. They put her upstairs, so much so that she holds stones! How? The secret to the design of the fireplace! Jura came up with the extreme stones of the furnace, installed in front of the large crossbar, to put so that a third of the stones go inside the furnace. These stones were crushed using a dressing on the other side. And from above they were crushed by a crossbeam. The result was a sturdy construction, according to the arch principle.
Is it possible to lay the fireplace insert out of any stones? Not. Soft stones are suitable for the furnace. Because when heated, they do not crack.
We used solid stones, because we built from old stones left over from the old fence. This fireplace does not plan strong heating. In addition, we put firewood and make fire not on stones, but in a metal container. It is convenient to lay the grate on such a roasting pan!
The fireplace has served for 3 years - as you can see in the photo, not a single stone cracked.
Inside, the fireplace can be plastered with clay plaster to protect the stones from cracking. It would be nice to bring out the pipe. But you can leave in this form - at the discretion of the owner.
