Superb mate- same 21 in 92 and i lived the scene. I feel honoured to have had the privilege to be a part of the original rave scene. 90- 94 but gave it up when there started to be a bad atmosphere with people who thought taking downers at a club or event was a good idea. But it was great while it lasted. Rave to the Grave party people - Massive Respect!!
Any old ravers out there thinking it used to be great…. It’s better than ever, get out, get on one, anyone out at any event knows all the tunes and is loving it, blinding👌👍😎😘😍

Great selection, I played most of these when we did our free partys...can't believe it was over 20 years ago...cheers for the flash back!
A heaving mass of bodies smiling at each other dancing like mad men and women. .. I miss those days... hardcore forever x
My god this takes me back to 92 best years of our lives. Proper old skool Rave Mix nice 👏
That picture says it all.
Oh my gosh rave hardcore 93!!! Class...my favourite music of teenage years.
Reminds me so much of my childhood, listening to this on a Walkman going to school, thought I was the bees knees 😎
I remember that flyer picture on my wall
Those early 90's were the days...nostalgia.
I remember all the beats and voice overs , sneaking into warehouses and dancing tripping spacing .... rather deaf now but worth it... meh to alcohol.... chemical daze and fun and happiness.... now 46 :-( my kids still think I listen to the coolest trippiest music ever

I LOVE WHEN PEOPLE HAVE THE COURAGE TO USE THE PRODIGY IN OLD SCHOOL HARDCORE MIXES. People tend to neglect them because they were too commercial. But at the time in 1992 they WERE a pretty damn part of the rave scene! Also, nice picture :P

Tara Gostling prodigy back in the day were up with there with the best, i remember watching them live as part of the nights line up along side Rhythm Quest, N-Joi & N-Trance back in 91-92 ...dont blame them for going commercial, they knew the end was nigh for the rave scene so went where the money was, unfortunately, for me from then on prodigy were not the same, they went more daft punk weird stuff lol to blend in with the commercial side of things.
@edone4997
8 жыл бұрын
rctruckz I would say that after experience the Prodigy deliberately moved away from the mainstream rather than "going where the money was", they unwittingly played a big part in the silliness of what 'rave' became with charly and I dont think that sat particularly well. they were always one of the few (only?) hardcore acts that performed live (in the way that a traditional band does)and live shows is where theyve always excelled so I think that their progression was a natural one, particularly when you see early interviews with Liam and hear him talk about the DIY ethos of his production which is very punk, this could be applied to all of the bedroom producers obviously. Youve also got top take into account the fact that they refused to play in the uk for a long time in protest of the criminal justice bill, not that they would have gone short of money performing in europe but I think it speaks volumes about their attitude given that at the time they could have probably sold any venue in the uk out. For me too experience was the golden age but I have a lot of respect for a group of lads that kicked off in a bedroom and managed to stay relevant for years to come and I would strongly advise you to go and see them live now if you get the chance mate, they know how to throw a party and you get an awesome mix of us old fellas jumping about with the younguns, noone is facing the stage, its like a proper rave :D and that cant be all bad

Great sound and bleeding great days. We had the best time dancing to talented DJ's like mickey B, dropping and feeling the love. All I've got left now is northern soul.
Nice 1 top mixing top tunes takes me right back to the dark dingy wicked labyrinth and fantazia summer time
I still have the flyer with this picture on in my collection from nights out back in the day. Long live all you old Ravers out there.
Everyone of these Mickey B mixes are fucking top draw. They bring back memories and there's always a couple of tracks I'd never heard before. The early-90s really was the peak years for dance music.
You could never forget this time 😜
Sounds as futuristic as it did when I first heard breakbeat hardcore aged 9 in 1992, banging
Was my first couple of years at secondary school listening to this, battling it out for dominance of the tape player in the common room at break. Plastering the walls of my room with flyers (including the on in the pic I think). Couple more years came the fake ID and sneaking into clubs. Lying to the folks about where I’ve been then rolling in late weekend drained as a wrung out sponge. Fantastic times and these tunes were the foundation! Thanks for the reminder Mickey! X
Back in the day, there were loads of "Alternative" ravers in Nottingham. Marcus Garvey Centre one night, Rock City the next. Just be you! If you love it, stand proud and ignore the haters.🤘🏻
We we re there hubby's and I. At 22 (then) it change our lives. So good
i was a little young when this music was peaking, i allways loved this pic, i found a book on ebay called CLASS OF 88 by WAYNE ANTHONY, im half way through and realize now what this pic realy stands for, WOW what an eye opener to acid house culture, to all u party goers who were there U LUCKY BASTARDS!! I think also a film is being made about those times to! WHOOP WHOOP!!
Also thanks very Much for Mickey B Sharing your old skool creations which some of us only ever had on cassette

Been mixing 30 years and believe me the early rave tracks were a nightmare to mix and more akin to hip-hop where it changes every 30 seconds into completely different noises, piano, beats. This is a class mix. Love it!

THANKS Man, I was searching for such mix for ages now and couldnt find it as I had no clue what they were called as artists. In 1994 I was 18 year old and one day I was listening to local radio station and bammmm this similar mix goes on bang bang bang and all that piano accords OMFG... I said,. this is the real deal music, as I never heard of it before. So, turned on my cassette deck and recorded that radio mix. Since then I have that tape, and never been able to find that similar mix. I am thrilled now, 18y0 again, and running high...

So many people love and miss this stuff. Why should it be something of the past? Am I the only one who occasionally make new stuff in this genre? By the way: Young people don't get this music at all, and even worse, they don't get the spirit behind it. Now more than ever is the time to rebel, and what do we have? Zombies with smartphones. Zombies who for instance rather tell everybody on Faecesbook that they are having guests, than actually being with them while they are there. Zombies who can't see how messed up everything is. The system, and Big Brother truly has won. WAKE UP!!!! Start raving, start protesting, and give the finger to the System. Give them hell - They have it coming. Awesome mix mate. Massive work.
