Tekken Tag players were built different back then lmao

The Armor King/King player in the first clip was MIC, I think. He got 2nd place once in a TTT world tournament (not sure if this was an Evo or not). He was basically one of the first that rose to legend with the Kings team. King was a mid-lowish tier back in Tag 1, he was better than his T3 self but not by much. The few cheap things he had by then were straight up hopkick (u+4, which was safer than regular uf+4 and still launched on normal hit, Angel/Devil and Heihachi had u+4 too), 1+2,1 which was -10 on block with substantial pushback, df+1>2 safe on block with the 2nd hit delayed (this lasted all the way from Tag 1 to Tag 2, was finally made unsafe even with delay in T7) and d+1,N+2 also had longer range on the first hit and less disadvantage/more pushback on 2nd hit). For combos he either did launcher, 2,1, 1+2,1 or 2,1, f+1,2 into f,f+2+3 body splash (this was a techroll catch but still hit ground in case the opp just stayed down although it did less damage in that case). Throws were much much harder to see and break, but they didn't catch airborne opponents yet. King's b+1+2~5 to AK was completely unescapable/unbreakable lol. Neither King nor AK had Shining Wizard. Most throws guaranteed a d+3+4 (ali kick) on the fallen opponent.

These oldschool Tekken stories and analysis of older Tekken game matches is AWESOME!!, please keep 'em coming; would luv to see more!

I wish I had Jdcr as a friend growing up, seems like fun times.

JDCR Has so many stories about Arcades and all, i wonder if people who knew him back then saw him winning big tournament at some point and thought about how far he got

I almost never break throws on Tekken 7 and this guys did it consistently back at TTT1 where it was 5 times harder lol

Tekken Tag 1 is still my favourite Tekken game to this day!

Wish they'd do a remaster/rerelease of these games with an online mode. Sure theyre broken af but they'd be fun, nice change of pace from sweating in competitive

I wished too! If they re release this for PS5 I never wanna get off of it! Online mode seriously smh, between one and two? The first one is better! Straight hand to hand combat fighting and grappling! No magic tricks and shit!

I wish they would remake tag 1. Even though it’s a masterpiece already and it doesn’t need a remake, I would love to see what an updated take on tag 1would be like. Being able to play with young prime kazuya before heihachi unalived him and g corp resurrected him, the original devil kazuya design with his broken ewgf that hit mid, the o.g. armor king 1, Mishima style normal young Jin, original unknown, tetsujin, and anyone else I forgot. I’ll never forget seeing tag 1 on ps2 for the first time and being so happy to be able to play with ALL of the legacy characters (they removed so many in tekken 3) and the graphics were finally at the level of the cgi endings in the old games. They we’re technically way better but as a kid that’s what I thought lol. But that’s a dream though 😢. I’d settle for 50 year old Heihachi and young kazuya/devil from tekken 1&2 though. Even if they were just costumes, but oh wait, Heihachi is gone now 😭😭😭.

이미 리마스터가 PS2, PS3로 되긴 했습니다. PS3때는 온라인화 할려고 했는데 무산됐다는데 지금 연식이 된 게임들을 리마스터 까진 아니더라도 콜렉션으로 내놓을 필요는 있어보입니다 👾

To tell you honestly, Tekken 5 PSP was the first Tekken game I've ever played, but I only got decent at Tekken 7 because I didn't know what to do with the game other than just button mash. These arcade stories of his, I want to go back to that era and experience it, at least in my home country.

The Original Tekken. The classic. Where you had to read/guess insanely well for breaking throws. Most broken Tekken Ever. That King/AK tag throw was unbreakable though. The only tag combo was of Law and Paul. Coolest combo of game if you could do it on your opponent. And where everyone and their grand mother was playing Jin/Devil team.

It's either - JDCR paying and letting his lesser-skilled friend have a go before playing normally; or - JDCR's friend paying and making JDCR win for him so he gets to stay on the machine longer if he told the truth then the high school kids would've beat their asses probably
