Bad back today from driving a corn binder but I was young and loved it. 3406/400 turned up 13 over with 3.55 on tall rubber. Pulled like a freight train and rolled coal. I would have worked for free just to get that feeling a good truck on a long run gives you

The first truck I drove ( for a living) in 1980 was a 1970 CO4070A with a 238 Detroit, 10 speed , and . 4.11 rears 🤣... NO power steering , NO air conditioning , NO jake brake , and I was hauling ( primarily) Owens Corning batt insulation in the Southeast and Texas... Good times back then... Yep, I'm OLD... 😅😅

I remember when there were so many of these on the road. Great looking truck then, even greater today!

That was neat seeing a video of cabover Cornfield Cadillacs! Mine was a 1966 CO4000. First year of the Transtar cabover actually. 238/10spd, it wasn’t that fast but it was dependable & always got the job done. “Running on Empty “ is what its nickname was.

O-H-I-O Porter greetings.🇺🇸 Oh how I remember many of those old IH cabovers, Corn Binders & others. My brother had a 1968 with a 238 Detroit & 13 speed. That single axle ran like a top & made all kinds of noise, but it would get the job done & you had fun doing it. They sure had some good looks! Good stuff! 🥰😎✌️

I know the John deere painted one, was a John deere dealer's truck and was sold to a farmer that keeps it looking like new

In my day, I have driven , KW, Freightliner, Mack, Road Commander, GM Astro, and the International Transtar cabovers, and the nicest feeling of the group to drive was the Transtar, by a wide margin.

They were a good, basic truck, thousands of them on the road. Looked pretty sharp with nice paint job and some chrome and polished aluminum

I think the Transtar’s were one of the sharpest looking trucks on the highway if they were decked out with all the shiny options from the factory and then with polished aluminum wheels all the way around
