We depend so much on our electronics these days to catch crappie. On this little episode with JR Oldham on Stockton Lake we locate crappie on feel and sight with no electronics

Kudos to u guys for going back to the (old school) basics. It's a testament to being a true fisherman. People who uses electronics are not real fisherman; they become men who find fish.

I enjoy fishing without a sonar myself. I enjoy how it focuses your attention to detail on the river and reading the current. Love the video!

No electronics just hoping we can remember where the brush pile is 😂 that you found originally with a fish finder

I fish more without any electronics than I do with them. Not only crappie but bass fishing also. Growing up we couldn’t afford the electronics anyway so I had to learn to find the fish. Over the years I’ve honed my skills and senses in pretty good. Now days I use the one at my console in GPS mode on a new lake but rarely remember to cut the one on at the bow. Great video.

I am 69 years old and cherish the memories with PawPaw and dad fishing Ol’ River in Louisiana. An old fly rod with float and a hook and a big bucket of minnows. We could catch plenty of Sacalait with just old time know how.

We mainly used minnows. Cant remember what jig we may have used. Usually when the water is clear on Stockton, a pink and white is good one

I can not get over the similarities between this guy and Hank hill. Please do a video on Hank hill impersonation. More so the lines dealing with "propane and propane accessories". Thanks

I never have and never will use electronics to fish and I keep my freezer filled up. Mainly with catfish though. I luck into some crappie now and then.

What are the biggest size tubes or curly tails do you say work the best for Crappie? Wanted to try fishing for them this summer.

The biggest size? I would say no larger than a 3". You may not catch as many due to its size and the smaller ones may not hit it. A good size for all round crappie fishing is 2"

Oh yeah, I like catching them both the same. Just like with people, black and white crappie may look a bit different, but they sure are equal!
