Fernando Pontes, mostly known as “Margarida” within the jiu-jitsu community, is a former open weight world champion in the sport. Margarida’s aggressive and entertaining style made him one of the most revered grapplers in the early 2000’s, he was also known for his irreverence in and outside of the mats. His high-class technical abilities and his personality made him one of the more recognizable sporting figures of his generation in Brazil.
Marcio Cruz, also known by his nickname “Pe de Pano” is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Carlos Gracie Junior, being unanimously considered one of the best to have ever competed in the sport. Mario Cruz was one of the biggest stars of the Gracie Barra Academy in the early 2000’s, having conquered numerous titles being his biggest achievements the two open weight black belt world championships in 2002 and 2003. Pe de Pano fought also in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) having reached the pinnacle of the sport by competing in the UFC. Originally from Brazil, Marcio Cruz moved to the United States where made a career as a jiu jitsu instructor.

GUYZINHO!! He and I had the chance to train back in the day when Margarida was a purple belt in Virginia. The kid was an animal then and only got better. I saw him go to a tournament at 17 years old and mow thru 8 guys (adults) and only spend about 10-12 minutes on the mat. Kid was special for sure

I used to train with Margarida, he was like 1,80 and 95kg. In front of Pé de Pano he looks really smaller and either way he just smashed Pé de Pano. This guy was a super Buchecha at that time.

A arbitragem horrível....margarida chegou varias vezes do lado , sem vantagens, pegou as costas e caiu por baixo e deu ponto pro pede pano...na minha opinião o margarida levou
