Old Rusty USSR Sanitary Knife Restoration
Hello folks! Today I want to show you me new knife restoration project. I found at flea market very interesting stuff. This knife is m-2 medium garden knife (Michurinets-2) is included in the bag medic's bag a set of medical equipment intended for first aid to the injured and affected cutting clothes and shoes. I had already restored a pocket knife like this once, but it was smaller. Well, I used vinegar, rust remover liquid and electrolysis. I didn't use a rust remover because it had a strong effect and the steel on the blade was thin. For knife handle I used a ash tree and brass rivets. In the end of restoration project I used two component paint and linseed oil for impregnation of wood on handle. I hope you enjoy this restoration video.
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!

My grandfather had one of this. He used it mainly during mushroom gathering. Nice memories of my childhood. Fine restoration. I left 👍.
Love from India bro.🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
The thing that you remember new in the store, many years later, turns out to be a historical artifact in another country. I feel like a fossil dinosaur. Thank you for restoring it, thank you for not polishing the blade, as American restorers like to do, and have kept traces of time on the blade. The wooden hilt of these knives usually remained the color of wood, processed only with drying oil. Sometimes they were simply painted with dark blue or dark green paint. I am happy to like you.
Restoring tools is a worldwide universal joy. Maybe there is hope for the world after all.
Muy buen video crack saludos desde Argentina 👍🇦🇷

Great restoration! Great looking knife! The star of this video is your hand held tumbler!
You're an excellent Craftsman, really nice Knife!!!!
Great job. Love how the handle came out.
Nice restoration, I do think the blade would look better with a mirror finish
Ficou perfeita a restauração desse canivete
Nice job :) I like how you made the blade because, other guys polish them to dead and know it has an old fashion look so well done 👍

I enjoy too mach watching your videos! Continue like that! And the result was amazing!!
Very nice job on the knife! Very interesting to watch how to restore an old, rusted knife.
Great job! The Iron Chloride was a great idea for the blade because the pitting was soooo bad you'd never have gotten it out and left enough material. The handle was beautiful!
Love the knife

LOL I got that knife from my grandpa when I was a kid.
Very nice 💪

Nice work, but maybe experiment with other ways of darkening the wood.

I love your work ! Excelent vídeo ! J.H. 🇩🇰
Hola.

cool video I really liked it
Belo trabalho
Great job my friend 👍
Usually I dont like grinding on old knives but buddy, grind the piss out of it and make it useable
Oh a pruning knife. I got 3 of these
Me gusta mucho tu canal saludos amigo!!
Fantastic restoration on this really unusual knife. You really made it look amazing. I loved the handle that you made. It's really beautiful. You have a special way of turning all of your projects into something very special. Take care my friend

I found a fixed blade one of these in the shed I’d have to fix it up now I seen this video lol
Good job like the video I like the knife I'm going to make me so hard thank you for inspiring me
It's a Pruning knife aka a hawksbill
...it is always better to drill from both sides half in the wood protecting against brocken and cracked wood...
Improvised sand blaster. Fuck yeah.
That looks like an old-time carpet knife. The hook blade is used to cut carpet.
