Fun fact, Chris and Jill are actually the difficulty select, Jill is easy (The lockpick opens Any, and I mean any door, Her berreta deals more damage, and can hold more items than Chris) Chris is your standard resident evil Affair, (Has to find the keys to open the doors, Has to get the broken shotgun to avoid the ceiling trap, Can only hold 6 items.)

@@Prizm17 Actually the human body has weak points (femoral artery etc), I'm pretty sure a good marksman would aim for a 'critical' point like an artery/head, thus causing more damage. Accuracy has everything to do with damage, I mean what if you miss? that's no damage.

No body ever talked about how chris laughs at wesker when the tyant is revealed and wesker gets so hurt and is just like "chris stop it!" It's the best part of the game lol

It actually probably originates from French or Spanish, neither of which pronounce their Hs and both of which have at least a little influence in America. And American ouses wonderful because they have NTSC tvs.

@@PanjaRoseGold Herb comes from the latin word "herbarius" meaning "herbs", so no, the "h" shouldn't be silent. I think it has more to do with america having a lot of people from non-english speaking countries, thus the language changed.

'ello is deliberate slang, but realy antiquated, Caddy just does it for effect.

On "herbs": It's adopted from an old french dialect that your country later dropped in the mid 1800's when non-rhotic speech became popular with the upper class to make themselves sound fancier, and thus became commonplace as everyone wanted to speak fancy. I am not kidding.

@@Wandergirl108 It's true. The Normans invaded Britain in 1066 and they became the high class people of Britain. Their Old French dialect was becoming more and more distinct from it's father language of Latin. They started having weird pronunciation due sounding fancier and high class, but they were also heavily influenced by the Germanic languages due to the Normans being a Germanic people. This is the reason why the sound of French is so alien to other languages in Europe. This invasion also resulted in Old English getting fucked up and making 27-30% of the vocabulary of French origin.

It's a kitbashed/amalgamation of a M16 stock and grip, with a BAR or an AK like receiver for the middle part, a drum magazine, and it ends with a wooden pump action grip and the shotgun barrel. To be fair to Sweet Home, the enemies you encounter further in the game do look pretty spooky for 8 bits. And being able to permanently lose your characters if they die is pretty punishing and nerve-wrecking

The camera pauses really brought the bit together

This is awesome, but a quick note on Sweet Home: it was a genuinely creepy game. A lot of effort was put into it to make the atmosphere just right and the enemy sprites really are nothing to sneeze at. Besides, survival horror really was just being invented, so the creators just did what they felt would be scary. Not mad or anything, just saying that Sweet Home still deserves a lot of respect for laying the groundwork that it did. One more thing: the door-opening loading screens, extremely limited inventory, and differing endings and gameplay depending on who survives all stemmed from this game.

Hell yeah, it was. For the time, Sweet Home was one of the most graphic horror games ever. A person LITERALLY melts into a skeleton before your eyes! Chunks of flesh just fall off...it's horrible! And MANIAC! The enemy with the giant blade and BUBBLING, BOILING SKIN!

+Caddicarus Biohazard was copyrighted by a rock group so they couldn't use the name and had to go with Resident Evil...

TJGamerGurl In fairness, the Hunters were definitely living, and they’re the enemies who’re most vulnerable to the acid rounds Barry gives you. So the “especially against living things” was the game’s way of trying to tell you what to use the rounds against. But yes, it was TERRIBLY worded 😂

The zombie dogs (I think) technically aren’t actually undead. The T-virus just upped their aggression and gave them necrosis, but they have the same base intelligence and health requirements as a standard dog. Still love this line, though.

Hey Caddy. I work in retail over here in America and I started seeing some of that stuff go up in late September.

Actually, from what I've heard, the DualShock version's soundtrack was the one composed by Mamoru Samuragochi and not the original version's soundtrack. I couldn't find any information on why the music was changed, but it was definitely changed for the worse.

Okay, that Item Box part may just be one of Caddy's funniest skits.

In the remake they changed Chris's name to Christhisway Redfield.

there was a punk band named Biohazard so they just wanted to avoid legalities and just changed the name. from what i remember hearing years ago also in addition: In the earlier resident evil games (1-3): you can easily walk right past the dogs as long as you don't touch them or get too close

@@kayfp408 you're probably right. Between that and the alt. basement theme, it would've been beyond horrifying.

Barry's voice actor revealed a while ago that the reason why the voice acting was so wonky was because all of the actors had been living in Japan for upwards of a decade at the time. They had all grown so accustomed to the slightly strange, unnatural English they heard in Japan, they didn't even register that the script and delivery were strange.

I love Resident Evil. The whole game feels like a B movie because of the terrible dialogue and overall cheesiness. Also, nearly half the dialogue in the game consists of memes.

Okay dude, MAJOR props on how you did the whole movement control thing on 12:20- it was funny enough, but i love the fact you added that extra detail where there's always a small pause on you before the camera pans over to the next location XP

Man, Caddy really half-assed it on the lip-synching for the skeleton animatronic.

Man, that music down at the aquaring in the original was, and still is, one of my favorite game tracks of all time. It's so creepy and really sticks with me, too.

Alright fine. You got me on this one. Soo going to replay re1 on my switch. Ugh. Been rewatching all the caddi seasons been a nostalgia trip for sure !

I love this series. I started watching KZread by looking up resident evil videos and watching Vash12349 or psychedelic snake. This series is so nostalgic for me. Great video

Biohazard is the name of a Band so they changed it to avoid trademark issues.

Love your video Caddy! Always do! I would say though, that the reason the control scheme was used in the remake of one, was because the concept of Remake/Remaster were not as commonplace as they are today. I think the remake of two proved that those older games CAN be done in a modern way, and still retain what made them scary.

No joke I was having a scare tonight with my health and thought I was going to die, but thank god there was a caddy video to help me through it.

Another fun Halloween video Caddy. I will admit the dopey dialog is so campy and funny that I can't help but agree it almost makes the game along with the eerie atmosphere and clever survival gameplay. Overall another fun video Caddy well done!

Just beat this game for the first time! Great video, the game holds up extremely well. I got the beat ending I could have imagined. Playing as Jill is really fun
