"Old Man Winter's Favorite Railroad" MA&N's Utica NY Branch

Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern serves Boonville, NY, one of America's six snowiest cities snowbrains.com/6-snowiest-cit... making this Old Man Winter's favorite railroad. At least, this is what my sources tell me....
This video features a MA&N freight heading to/from Boonville NY (on the railroad's 45-mile Utica-Lyons Falls NY line) on Dec 22, 2021.
MA&N No. 2042, a MLW M420W, is first seen leading its train of eight empty lumber racks up Remsen Hill in Prospect. To facilitate switching chores in Boonville, engine No. 2456 is placed at the tail-end of the northbound freight.
Next, the train is observed approaching and crossing Phillips Rd, Boonville, just south of Egypt Rd.
Switching activity in Boonville is seen at Bailey's Mill (approx Milepost 35) and 3B Timber (approx Milepost 33).
Southbound, the train, now with 2456 leading the way, is observed at Dean Rd, Boonville, and in Remsen

New snow absorbs so much sound, really dampens the loudness of approaching trains, but the beauty it adds is undeniable. Thanks for the video.

I noticed with interest that the 2456 has been returned to her as built appearance with the nose headlight moved back to the top and the bell under the running board. BC Rail made the original changes to meet Canadian practices when they acquired the E-L C425s. Great stuff!!!
