Old/ Historic Czech(oslovak) Yellow-White Police Cars & Ambulance Car With Lights & Sirens [6.2023]

The Czechs sure have some interesting historic police vehicles! Seen here are several cool generations driving with lights and sirens. More details below 🔽 The yellow-white cruisers belong to the VB (Veřejná bezpečnost) - Public Security - the police force of the former Czechoslovakia. According to Wikipedia the creator of the yellow-white livery had the American black & white scheme in mind. The agency was dissolved in 1991 and succeeded by the Policie ČR - the Czech State Police with their classic white cars with a green stripe - a simple but neat looking livery!
You can also hear Soviet style sirens - that specific siren tone was the standard for Czechoslovakia.
Units in the video:
1) VB GAZ-24 Volga
2) VB Lada VAZ-2101. Possibly a former unmarked police cruiser (not if it truly served for the VB)
3) VB Lada VAZ-2105. I don't know if red lights were actually commonly used in by the police in Czechoslovakia. Maybe some viewer can tell 🙂 The halogen stop light sure looks awesome!

6) Policie ČR Skoda Felicia - a very iconic Czech police vehicle to me! Especially with that lightbar, the old graphics and the push bumper. I still remember one responding and passing our car at crazy speeds back in around 1999. That Felicia was leaning so hard in corners!
7) Policie ČR Skoda Fabia
8) Policie ČR Ford Mondeo - I believe some were used as unmarked vehicles for highways.
9) Emergency Medical Services Skoda Forman. I don't know from which era that car is from.

That Mondeo was formely marked police unit, fully with lightbar and green stripe. They were all sold when they went out of service, and lightbars were dismounted, that's why this one is "unmarked". These Mondeos were high-powered ST220 version and were used for highway patrol units.

The yellow patrol cars remind me of the MFP from Mad Max (albeit less cool and sporty), or the old patrol cars from the Soviet Union.
The red and blue lights were used for maximum priority vehicles only. All the other cars on the road had to give way to them, even emergency vehicles with blue lights (ambulances etc.).

That is great! :) How do you like our Czech(oslovak) old police cars? :) And to be honest, I have never seen VB police car with blue & red beacons :D

Red beacons were only on limited number of VB cars. These cars were used in presidential or government convoys only.

Thank you! 🙂 I really like the historic vehicles. The Volga and the EMS car are the most interesting ones to me but my personal favorite will be the Felicia due to its nice look and personal memories 😄
