My Grandpa drank Old Gran Dad, so I did not for many years. Thinking this was old mans whiskey. Then I bought my first bottle 2 years ago. Hard to beat the value and taste of this whisky folks. It has become my go to BIB.

Solid dram. One of my go to pours. @$22 750ml, Big fan of OGD BIB. Evan Williams BIB is another exceptional whiskey.

Agreed. In Ohio, Old Grand Dad BiB just went up to $21. Evan Williams BiB is $18. Both are readily available and good daily drinkers.

Good, Respectable, and Great Bourbons know no price point.

You can't go wrong with ogd bib....It's mellow and inviting. Even to a novice. I think it's unique with a touch of orange spice. Best neat.

Absolutely!

I know this is an older video, but.... Based on some other reviewers I saw awhile back I just picked up a bottle as an explorer bottle. I'm happily surprised. I get Graham cracker, vanilla/honey, toasted oak and some baking spice. It is better after it sits a bit to open up. Nice review, it punches above it's weight.

The bones of this bourbon are good. With a few drops of water and about 30-45 minutes of time just sitting in the glass this opens up nicely. The nose more than anything is congested out of the bottle, at 100 proof. I would love to see this exact same product at 12 years of age. Makes me wish bourbon did exact age statement for versions the way scotch whisky does. This would hold up to age extremely well.

Drank this for the first two last year. I love this bourbon, and the price is amazing! I love pretty much all Jim Beam Bourbons though.

OGD BiB is on sale this month in NC for $19.95, normally $22.95.. Not a straight sipper for my tastes, but it’s solid for mixing w/ ginger ale or in a cocktail.

I love high rye bourbons chased with sweet tea...try it sometime.

I love OGD (for the proof) but I've only been able to find the regular 80 proof where I am I would love to be able find the bonded or barrel strength versions

I've had several bottles of this over the years. For me, it's just okay. It always seems young, hot and thin to me. But it's hard to beat for under $20.

Haven’t seen it much in my area (North Fl Tallahassee area) but you can usually find the 80 and 114 proof. Would love to see how the Blade and Bow holds up blind! The local Costco has it for a good deal.

I also second the Blade & Bow!! Came so close to buy a bottle in Texas last month, but just could get around the price for an unknown.

It's made with the same recipe as, Basil Hayden's, at a fraction of the cost.

How did no one pick up the peanut taste. Either way amazing bourbon for the price

How you gona argue with what Bad Santa drinks im pretty sure he has tasted everything. Shout out to also george T for mentioning it in “i drink alone “ If you ever get a chance to taste a dusty from national distillers “ it will change your life .

Is Old Granddad the spirit I was totally passed out on for 12 hours? Server claimed that the product had no impurities and as I drank I would be unable to trace extent of becoming inebriated and to beware. I recall a bottle was $25. It was so really smooth to partake of and there was not even mild discomfort or any such hangover when I came to. I only don't recall the name.

The key to not waking up 12 hours later and wondering what happened it to not drink the entire bottle. Try stopping at two or three pours: about two ounces each, and then make your drink last longer than one gulp.

You guys over estimate the price of almost every bourbon.. By a lot

I’ve seen it on the bottom shelf, heard all the talk about how good OGD BiB is, but have never tried it. Did not particularly like the 114 personally. Had a couple things I saw in my travels and kept in mind to suggest for review; Jefferson Reserve straight bourbon, and if you haven’t done it already definitely Jack Daniels Single Barrel, Barrel Proof, that stuff is amazing, and I can’t stand regular JD. lol

That’s a worthy one to do blind along side Regular Blanton’s SiB, SFTB & Gold. I did that blind, took some of the fun out of the Gold though. 😂

Hey guys! Love your program. I would love for you to recommend 10 or so bottles to keep stocked. My dealers seem to never keep the same stuff in stock. I also love the fact your wife is a bourbon drinker! I have been drinking Henry McKenna 10 single barrel 100 proof based on your recommendation. My sweet wife went to get another bottle for me, and they were out. Instead she picked up the Henry McKenna 80 proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Sour Mash. She paid $12 for the bottle. Would you consider reviewing it?

Thanks! The HMK10 is a great bottle, but getting hard to find. Check out our video on top 5 go back to whiskies, that's what I reach for on a regular basis, but we should do a video on 10 whiskies to always have in your bar, good idea!
