Old Friends, New Beginnings | ND M.D.
Full circle with some of my favorite people :) @RachelSouthard with some parting advice for me and Shaun as we figure out how to do this whole doctor thing while still doing the whole KZread thing.
I honestly have no idea how many parts this will end up being, this has just been some of the most fun I've ever had with people who I met on the internet. Me and @ShaunAndersen are taking a little road trip before residency and answering your questions along the way!
I know this isn't the typical "medical" content that I am sure most people subscribed for...but the life of a physician outside of the hospital is just as crucial to delivering quality of care as the long hours in the clinical setting.

14 hour drive up the east coast up next 🫡 hope yall enjoyed this little break before we buckle back down to do this whole doctor thing right. Shoutout to all the incredible friends this platform has given me over the years that will last a lifetime, no matter how far apart
stop apologizing about content, theses videos are great!!! Other side of medicine, you are human beings first, doctors second

Exactly what I needed to hear :) it’s always tough balancing fun videos with ones I know are a bit more directly educational but glad to see some people appreciating the other side of things
I heard you apologize for the content not being medical-related. Please don’t ever apologize for something like that again. As @nxtgenmd once said: “Your passions outside of medicine sustain your career in medicine.” You’ve embarked on a long journey with a lot of resistance. People who have a negative connotation of medicine and the stereotypes of personalities in the profession will choose the path of less resistance and perpetuate the stereotypes out of regret for not trying and now having to justify themselves. Your content makes medicine feel accessible, allowing people to romanticize the profession while remembering the importance of being a good human. Whether we choose a profession or not shouldn’t be based off of the beliefs or experiences of others and if we keeping pushing a dream down and it resurfaces with little to no effort, we then know it’s something we should pursue.

Thank you so much :) it means the absolute world to me to hear the support for these videos that are more about life than about medicine. For everyone else commenting on my genuine apology, I just want it to be clear that every, and I mean EVERY medical creator on any platform struggles with this whether they are brave enough to admit it or not. We all are people outside of medicine yet are still cognizant of how a social media platform works (you must stay in your niche, if views drop then your channel declines, give your followers the value they subscribed for, etc). Our goal is always to be able to show both sides of our lives while ensuring viewers still find value, information, or entertainment over the 10-15 minutes you watch. But low views are often times an objective measurement that our audience is not interested or is not getting that value we desire to put out into the social media space. It takes me a while, even after 4 consistent years on KZread, to still be confident enough to post videos that I know will get lower views just for the sake of my personal memories, so imagine how newer creators feel. Continue to encourage others you see on this platform as you have here, and we’ll have a better community as time goes on
