I’m 60 YO, and I’ll be setting up a 75 gallon in another month or so. If I am still enjoying it 22 years from now I’ll truly be blessed!

Carl is like "If I don't look you in the eye, I didn't do it". Nice tour and if my wife sees the Wednesday tank, I know what is going to happen, she is obsessed with that show.

Hey mate . I haven't lived in a house with a cat since 1977 ? Don't mind patting one every now and then , eliciting the inevitable purr , but dogs are the best people .

I have 5 cats....after one of them smashed through a lid and into a 55 at 2 am, then she came up on the other side under a different lid and was drowning when I got to her and snatched her out....I built canopies for every one of my tanks. the cats lay on top of them and they and my fish are safe . fairly easy to build and they make the tanks look a lot nicer .

Mine is constantly neglected 😬 though the rest of my tank is definitely not 😆 It's adorable when John refers to any and all fish and animals as adorable. Not what you would expect to hear (unless of course you've been watching for a while) and it gets me every time 🙂

Loved the tour and loved all yours tanks! It felt like I was right there and the best part is, and it’s not that they it didn’t look amazing but it looked like a fish tank and not some over the top production piece, this being said again your tanks are beautiful and I love you guys so much! Love this! Love too the honesty. Fish tanks are WORK, & at their best, something always needs to be done in each one. I gave my guppies (a few hundred) to a contact who had a 75G w/ only 7, small community fish. He also keeps frogs and axolotl…so I think that’s where his extras go.

I like the natural look of your tanks. You don’t want a sterile tank environment like some other folks keep their tanks so clean. That’s when you get issues. Great video.

Wow the tanks are gorgeous! Wish we had a fish shop here in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. We have one pet store and he’s an older man, so there’s only a few different fish that he has! I just started my fish hobby in March. I have two fancy goldfish, in 20 gallon, one betta fish in a 5 gallon, and 3 guppies in 10 gallon, and they had their first babies on the 19 th, I was so excited, only got 6 babies, it was like Christmas morning, lol their in the breeder box right now😊 Love you guys🥰

You two have mastered the art of tank setups. My tank is a mess. There's no consistent theme, the fish don't compliment each other, the plants are so random, it's like a patchwork of a bunch of random stuff. Everything is healthy, grows great, and the tank is nice and clean. It's just not cohesive at all lol

I love, love, love this video. I only have one negative. I couldn't see ANYTHING in the saltwater tank. It was so dark that I could barely see the outline of the rock structure. It really needed a light on it. I'm sorry. I don't mean to complain, but I'm just letting you know in case you're not aware of it. Love you guys.😊

Add a tang to the saltwater tank to deal with algae. The foxface also eats algae but a zebrasoma tang will also help.

oh so the gold severums ARE still in there. 2 anyway. they look a lot different from their baby selves so i wasn't sure. less gold/yellow in that lighting. was really glad you got them instead of the monster arowana. :]

7:31 😮 quite the haul for them buggers.. I never got why they are called rabbit snails other than their little hop like movement. They look more like elephants to me.

I miss my apple snail wish they weren't illegal now The thing was about the size of a baseball. It would come to the top of the tank so I could hand feed it. pretty amazing the teeth that thing has.

You showed us what Carl likes to do when getting down and I image and worried, if he might fall into the tanks. It's sad but for the safety of Carl, I wouldn't let him stay in the fish room. I love and enjoyed the tour, give us an update when Lisa removes and reorganize her side. Oh I just remembered, how can I keep safe a cube tank without breaking apart, I hope companies can sale plastic frames for them. Is the new look but I just don't trust them.

Have you thought about or tried jungle val with the bichir/oscar tank. Theyre tough and grow big roots which can handle those tough fish and help with nitrates a bit

I love these style videos, honestly way better than the list videos in my opinion. Question though for my own sanity because I question myself about this daily honestly. At about the 25 minute mark you mention that those 10 gallon aquariums are unfiltered and you just water change. Cool. My betta aquarium is 6.7 gallons and I have since removed the sponge filter from it several weeks ago. It still has the heater and all the other stuff but he just hates any type of moving water and I've struggled with that since we got him. The tank came with a low flow internal filter we tossed because he didn't like it and then we tried two different types of sponge filters with regulators. I have never experienced a fish that dislikes it that much but he does and its weird to explain. Even on the lowest setting he just avoided that area completely and overall didn't seem as happy. With the filter removed and just relying on water changes he is active as can be, building bubble nest. Feeding regularly. I just monitor the water and change it as necessary and the fish seems way happier. Is this okay? Obviously I'm not gonna let his water get nasty or anything and I monitor it all the time. It takes a single betta quite a while to dirty up 6.7 gallons of water and I keep his tank nice and clean. With this being the case and him being so much happier, is the filter really necessary for that situation? I think the proof is in the pudding so to speak but I would like to confirm this with people that have way more experience than I do. I love the fish room tour, even the tanks yall say are in bad shape look awesome to me. It also has me second guessing my plans for my 55 as large tanks with small fish for some reason I find very appealing. Thanks!

Out standing place. I wish you get where you wna be with all those beautiful house for amazing souls. I'm currently facing a problem with ph. I check the tape water when I change the water it always shows around 7.1-7.4. But just after a few hours of storing or charging water the ph directly goes to 8.1-8.2. I took out everything of the tank. I washed the sponge filter so well with clean water. But still that 7.1 water next Dat reaches 8.1. Im so tired. Gna give up keeping betta cause IM doing everything i can but cant keep those fins intact. 😢 yah I tried almond leaves too. The ph 8.2 I mean whaaaat ?

The algae on your saltwater is probably from your phosphate be a little bit to high test your phosphate it should be anywhere from 0.03ppm to 0.08 ppm and maybe test your nitrate

I am a beginner months ago I bought 30 gallon tank with guppies fish,molly fish and angel fish baby can I keep angelfish with guppies and molly and what temperature should I keep them how aften I should change the water. My tank don't have plants The shopkeep told me you can keep angel babies with them I have doubt about it. I would be very happy if you could help me out. And I saw some of your video its really helpful

Unrelated to this video but wondering about a product and hoping you and your fans might have input. Oase integrated heater filters, any good? I like the corner filter design, but images and videos it looks like cheap plastic. Also don't know if the heaters any good, but with the lower price point I'm guessing I'd be best replacing the heater with something more reliable.

If you get rid of some of those betta tanks id be interested in 5-10.
