    Could have been started also manually (we hapily did so when battery lost power). There is a hole in the front bumper for the lever, if I remember well. 2 men necessary at least, better more. Great car, no doubt.

    Yes, every diesel engine that Tatra manufactured is aircooled and has separate cylinders and heads. Also the crankshaft is not a single piece but connected with bolts. By doing things this way, tatra was able to create any engine configuration imaginable using the same components (Inline 6, V8, V12) just by casting different types of engine blocks and then putting all of these components on the engine block as needed. @@Lorin-GabrielLeaua-fm1lw

    Yes as a Tatra fan I can tell you that it really is a shame, I heard that they just were not able to keep up with the new emission regulations using their aircooled engines so instead of spending money on research to create new engines, with lower emissions which they did not even know if it was possible, they just used what was availible from various different manufacturers such as DAF, truly a shame :(@@Lorin-GabrielLeaua-fm1lw

    Questions for Praga V3S 1. What are the gauges? Where would be the start button? 2. Does it have power steering? Thank you!

    Hey A little late, but here I go: The V3S has multiple gauges, the ones I can think of right now are the speedometer, oil temp meter, oil pressure meter and amp meter. The start button is located on the left side of the dash, and - on Czech versions - is labeled "SPOUŠTĚČ". The latest version of the dash does not have a start button, as it's function is (I think) integrated into the ignition barrel. This version also has a separate switch for the low pressure fuel pump, located on the left edge of the dash. To my knowledge, no V3S's were ever equipped with power steering. Will update comment if answers turn out to be incorrect.

    EDIT: After a little research, here are the corrections: From what I gathered, there are 4 versions of the dashboard. (5, If you count the 30mm PLdvK vz. 53/59 anti air vehicle based on the V3S.) I will however only cover 4 in detail, namely the 2 dash variants found on the original V3S, the later version found on the V3S-M2 and the anti air dash. I can't find any pictures of the later M6 dash. The original V3S and the anti air dash all have a speedometer, amp meter, high beam warning light, air pressure gauge, oil pressure light, winch and diff lock warning light, oil temp gauge, generator charge warning light, gauge illumination switch, cabin illumination switch, indicator light switch, and the ignition barrel (where you put the key). Differences: post 1966 V3S had a flip - up starter switch instead of a button, lacked the switch for the external "NOTEK" lights, which had been replaced. The anti air dash had extra left and right fuel tank warning lights, a "spring stripper" warning light and a combined generator charge/heater light. I'll post another comment describing the M2 dash tommorow.

    Gud ebening So, the dashboard gauges, lights and controls of the V3S-M2. Produced from 1984, the layout and theme are completely different from the previous dashboards (V3S, V3S-M1 - first modification of V3S, anti air vehicle) It has a speedometer, diff lock indication light, front axle drive indication light, additional drive indication light, combined brake system/oil pressure warning light, high beam indication light, trailer indicator light (blinker) indication light, voltmeter, reverse light indication light, air pressure gauge, parking light indication light, fuel level warning light, fuel gauge, left indicator light, "winch on" indication light, oil temp gauge, right indicator light, wiper stalk, wiper interval switch, headlight switch, ignition barrel, fog light indication light, fog light switch, instrument light switch, warning light indication light, warning light switch, ceiling light switch, low pressure fuel pump switch - older models also had this pump, just without the separate switch, low press f.p. indication light, light selection switch.
