Old Anglo-Saxon English Village WALK || Uffington, English Countryside
Come along with me on this walk to see this Old English Village. The village of Uffington in Oxfordshire lies on the edge of the Vale of the White Horse, just north of the Berkshire Downs .
Uffington lies about 5 miles south of Faringdon beyond the village of Fernham. An old Anglo-Saxon village whose name with its current spelling appears to date from c.955 - Uffa ‘personal name’; inga ‘people of’; tūn ‘enclosure, farmstead, village, estate’. It is written as Offentone in the Domesday Book 1086 and has had various spellings since.

Uffington is a very pretty village with lots of houses with thatched roofs. Some seem to come out of a picture book!!. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and there are many small paths that lead to adventure. Thanks Kevin 😀😀😀😀😀

What a beautiful village. Sadly when I came to Uffington with my school in 1960 - we never ventured into the village, but did explore The Uffington White Horse....Wonderful area, so pleased to have seen this video... thanks!
