Could you explain why you build ad in the first game and ap in the second when you had all ad champs in both games on your team

If you don’t mind me answering this, I would like to help you out. First, it’s usually best for you to build ad against Kassadin because that’s the only way for Kat to get prio from the beginning. The difficulty level of dealing with mid-late game Kassadin as ap Kat is extremely high, not to mention the brutality of the lane phase without the ad bonus stats. To add on top of this, Kat’s ad build is NEVER ad dmg oriented. She’s always been hybrid, and all the ad on-hit items providing the magic dmg will give her just as much ap dmg on her combos if not more. You can check that on the dmg chart after game. That’s why it doesn’t matter for Kat to get the lane dominance in the lane phase with ad and switch over to ap after. It’s one of those niches you can get by playing Kat. Second, the reason why he chose to go ap Kat after doran’s blade (as I’ve mentioned above) is because after Kat gets the prio in lane, she can dish out more dps to assassinate the squishy opponents. That’s part of the reasons why Kassadin holds higher value than Vlad. As you can see from the video, when Vlad was held in lane while Kat roamed, the amount of snowball ap Kat had gotten carried over into how she put the fed Kindred so far behind. Again, this is only because he started ad and switched into ap. I hope I cleared some confusions for you -.-;; I guess what I’m trying to say is team comp isn’t the deciding factor for Kat - it’s the enemy team’s comp, especially your laner. Anyways, hope you win some games with Kat ^^
