I doubt it. The BBC recently ran a segment on German speakers from Texas, but what they actually showed were clearly L2 speakers, who spoke standard German with grammatical errors like a native English speaker would make.

@GeLsEnKiRcHeN95 well saxony is sure not in nrw (we are descendants of the germanic tribe of the franks) as well as the alpen (they are in bayern/bavaria), maybe you meant the eifel? but you are correct with gelsenkirchen (known to most people only as schalke ;D) greetings from germany ;)

It is remarkably funny to hear that guy at 45 secs. pronouncing that German word in the accent he has.

By the way, as an addition to my first reply, I'd like to add that Evans is a Welsh name. An evans may have other types of ancestry though.

Just because a person's last name is not German does not mean that they do not have German ancestry. My surname is English but I am 1/8 German. :)

I was not aware of evans being german... every evans I have met is always claiming scotch-irish... I know where Saxony is, my grandparents actually live in an all german town in texas, very small town... but they originate from Nord-Rhein Westfalen... Alpen to be exact, so i've always used the screen name of Gelsenkirchen because its one of the bigger cities in North Rhine Westphalia.... grüße aus vereinigt staaten

The units of beer are too small. Normally in an Oktoberfest they serve beer in 1-litre mugs and eat grilled chicken. Also the music is a lot worse.

Ummmmm Sorry.....Oktoberfest is from BAVARIA, which is in the SOUTH.....IT is a BAVARIAN festival, NOT an all-of-Germany festival. And I didn't know it had anything to do with harvest, it was invented in the 1800s in honor of the wedding of a prince and princess. DUHHHHHH

Evans is not English, it is Welsh. Welsh people are not English. They are Celts. Perhaps there is a German name that is Evans too? :)

Just because somebody doesn't have a German last name doesn't mean they don't have any Germany ancestry. DUHHH!!!! How ridiculous.....In America, most people are highly mixed. I have traced my ancestry to 11 countries! It is not uncommon.
