I like your point Chael. However, some facts need to be addressed that are an issue beyond the brawl. The fight is over, and the bigger guys paid up in pain and embarrassment. The problem is, Jones(football player) involved his lawyer and police. Says he was trying to prevent a fight, which really seems inaccurate from the footage. If that narrative is going to be a court decision Jones could cause lasting problems for the 2 other guys who may not have the clout or resources of a U of Oklahoma football player. Also, Jones almost lost his eye and had to have his orbital reconstructed. The trained fighters who seemed to be defending themselves shouldn’t face undue consequences because of who they tangled with.

@@tomjones2056 in any fight someone can die, and, didn’t die. Not even close. He was attacked and cornered so they had it coming, he has the right to defend himself and incapacitate his attacker. If you were being cornered by a much bigger man you would do the same. Jones was trying to fight back the whole time. Got beat up and is running to the cops and lying about what happened.

How the parties reacted to the event after the fact is the reason this video was such a draw in the first place. Kids got their asses taken to them and then proceeded to lawyer up, getting out in front of the narrative with lies. If the results were reversed it would have been a case of “boys will be boys.”

The takeaway is don't pick fights with people who know how to fuck you up. The reason it's so relevant is because football players are usually seen as the bullies (and in this case they clearly were) being the "cool" guys who are huge and always stick together, and it was one of the rare cases where they are in way over their head in a physical altercation. That guy who got his face shattered likely won't be able to play again for a long time, if at all... And he got what he was asking for.

The moral of the story is never pick a fight while wearing a turtle neck and jean jacket

The reason is because it was a football player against an MMA fighter who was smaller than the player. It went viral because it felt like justice for the little guy. It has little do for with the fact that he played football at all if you ask me.

I miss the days when two guys disagreed and one guy dropped the other and it was done. One of my now best friends that how me met.

That was high school when I went. My boyfriend and my friend's boyfriend would fight, then go get a pizza together, leaving us girls arguing with each other over what the other's boyfriend did.

Self defense would have been punching the guy who pushed you, not punching the guy who did not push you. You might be correct about the case being closed. It could be case closed and jail time for Askren unless the guy who's eye socket he broke assaulted him prior to the video, which no one knows but the majority is assuming. If the football player who got his eye socket broken is physically responsible for Askren's bloody nose than he probably deserved what he got.

The DA tossed the case out said it was a fight by both parties. Said it was a fist fight agreed on by both men

Chael said the same thing as the reporter on the boondocks when grandad got beat up my stinkmeaner, that ass whoopin was punishment enough lmao

The problem with random public fights is that you just wish once someone is beaten that would be the end of it. But more times than less you always see that when a guy is defeated or knocked out the guy who is winning always wants to continue to beat on an unconscious face and that is when these scenarios change from a good fight, a good butt whooping to an assault.

It’s attracting attention because these football players were picking a fight with two guys who were very obviously smaller than them...Chael mentioned the combo body lock and rear naked choke but let’s not forget the little guy also attempted to choke him out with his collar (just like in jiu jitsu with gi)

If Ben askren had the hands of the great value Ben askren in that video then I’d believe in him 100% to beat the Paul kid.

These were football jocks who were used to their sizes allowing them to talk trash without consequences. But in this bathroom they picked the wrong guys to start giving s**t. Lesson learned- be careful who you start messing with, and don’t think your size or muscles are going to carry you in a fight.

The 2 smaller guys were brothers. They both had years of wrestling and mma experience!

The big take-away? Well it's: "pump the brakes homie before you get dat ass starched." Somebody get Bisping in here to teach homie how to strike with one eye because that's all he has left.
