This performance is such a passionate one and definitely one for the books! I was told, the ‪@okcthunder‬ halftime show with Speedpainter ‪@JessicaKHaas‬ practically went VIRAL! Or so I was told! Fans took to all different social platforms just to share the performance because they genuinely loved and felt it. And, I did too! This performance was one of my favorites. As an American who has had brothers, sister, uncles, cousins, and grandparents who have served and given their lives for our country- this performance ended up being one of my more obviously passionate paintings. It was such an honor to get to honor our veterans for their service to our country and wow did Oklahoma LOVE it. This was my 2nd time returning to perform for the OKC Thunder ! This paint performance video is a little more unique than the others in that I wanted to share the entire performance from top to bottom so you could feel like you were there, hear the crowd roar, and show what a full speed painting halftime looked like from every angle. The Thunder game was WILD, completely SOLD OUT and the Thunder took home the win. A few highlights you'll see in this performance painting video is me painting furiously fast (as always - but while performing this portrait I really got to engage with the crowd but also had to really HUSTLE - which you'll see at the out end how out of breath I am) because I had to paint the eagle over the American flag, I had to really concentrate so as to not place the wrong colors in the wrong areas ; I got to shock and awe a FULL house of zealous OKC Thunder fans AND Veterans when performing at the renown ‪@paycom‬ center Arena when pulling off this very passionate patriotic reveal ; & you'll get to see some of my most focused facial expressions I've ever made since this type of painting requires such precision and accuracy, but also my enormous eruption of excitement post flip when I too get excited at the reveal that I nailed it and can't help but feed off the crowds reaction, by which they literally loose their minds and I loved every bit of it! One fan took to twitter and said "that amazing paint lady at halftime went crazy... she definitely knew her audience! That was epic." I couldn't have asked for a better response or more passionate crowd!
Performing a patriotic halftime painting can sometimes be predictable art so its a tall order to ensure you genuinely entertain and pay tribute , but in my opinion- its rare you see the Veterans Day or Memorial Day or 4th of July performances this passionate and I think that's the key to making it memorable- giving your full heart, because if you feel it, they will too! I am so glad I got to really honor those we should be most passionate about celebrating, and all in under 6 minutes, for the NBA team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. Im ecstatic to get to share this performance painting video. I LOVE the thrill and excitement of speed painting for NBA halftime games- the energy from the fans, the anticipation, the excitement and adrenaline- I absolutely LOVE it!!!! I can't wait to perform for more in 2024!!! This NBA halftime speed painting art piece honoring our Vets maybe one of my newest favorites. I love how it turned out- especially the pop of the red, white and blue + the Stars and Stripes behind the eagle. This is definitely one of my new favorite halftime art pieces and performances I have done. I am so grateful to the Lord I got to sling paint on that Oklahoma City Thunder court. Enjoy!
