OKC Makes a Stunning Comeback in a Game It Had to Win | The Ryen Russillo Podcast
Спорт
Ryen Russillo recaps Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Mavs got off to a hot start and raised some questions about the Thunder’s offensive process, only for OKC to mount a dramatic second-half comeback thanks to the heroics of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Chet’s defense probably will get overlooked since Shai had an unreal night. But Chet was awesome, and okc showed a lot of resolve last night. Obviously the issues are there and they most likely lose in the next round if they get there. But, they are a backup center and a solid wing to replace Giddey away from being a legitimate Finals team. Let’s see if Presti can cook this offseason.
A game is won by a million variables. OKC shot the three terribly when they’ve been a an amazing 3pt shooting team all year. Luka and Kyrie were terrible when they’ve been amazing all year. JDub was inefficient when he’s been efficient all year. PJ Washington is the Mavs’ new Ray Allen. All of these things you could argue are not repeatable or could change drastically. The truth is OKC made the right choices and hit more of their shots in the end. I think it’s minimizing how impactful everything is in a full game when he ends the segment with, if the Mavs hit their free throws it’s a wrap. OKC had like 38/28/95 shooting splits and still won. There’s so many things to be said both ways and it’s not just the free throws.
Chet put his big boy draws on while getting beat up all game
10:30 the Kyrie fan impression is hilarious 😂
Everyone keeps saying if the Navajo make the free throws they would have won, well what if the thunder would have hit 3-4 more three pointers they would have blown the Macau out
Nice curtains Ryen

C'mon now. Gotta be a hotel room.
When comparing JDub to Paolo, besides JDub being the better defensive player & clutch player, he is better fit to build a Championship contender around. Yes Paolo is the better player right now but no one in OKC would trade JDub for Paolo. (And Orlando wouldnt trade their guy)..The Thunder dont need another scorer for next season. Chet will make a big leap. So will Cason Wallace & JDub will be better.
I always find it interesting how someone who can efficiently shoot long contested 2s struggles so much with 3s. Maybe it’s a mental thing once you’re behind that line but if sga can unlock his 3 pt shot his game can go up even another level

DeRozan type shit
The Thunder's a very good team, but when the other team loses by 4 with missed 11 free throws... that's where the game was decided.

The Thunder shot 38 percent from the field. Lets not act like the Thunder didn't also leave a ton of points on the board. Very unlikely they shoot that poorly again in this series.

@@mrschnimy9322 Yeah, and the Mavs' stars shot under 30% combined. Very unlikely too.

@@THE_BEAR_JEWI’ve been hearing this every game this series. “Wait until kyrie or Luka show up” It’s a reason they’re putting up these numbers and PJ is having the series of his life.
giddey is being used to poorly, idk why he isn’t taking the ball up off a rebound. you need a guy like that running with momentum
Luka gets all this praise but he hasn’t got out the second round in forever! He needs to step up!

So, they would've won "if" they made they're free throws, but "if" OKC had made, idk, like a few of the 1000 missed 3s they had in that game, would those free throws have helped? Nope lol.

@@David-iv6je Still an if game, and OKC shot 9% in the first half, a lot of these were uncontested. My point is, OKC played like absolute dog shit (three games in a row) and folks are acting like Dallas is the only one who did and acting like "if" they made their fts they win. You can easily play that same game with OKC the past few games. Make or miss league.

@@kurtishair24 Bro, you can't talk your way out of what you said. Free throws and 3s are way different. A 70% free throw shooting season is not good, a 35% 3pt season is good. That's how different they are in degree of difficulty. Also, it's not like OKC shot poorly and the Mavs shot well. Kyrie and Luka went 10/31. That's horrible for 2 star players of their caliber. If you had to bet on what's likely to happen again, it'd be foolish to bet on Kyrie and Luka shooting a combined 30% and that the Mavs will miss half of their free throws.
does sga ever shoot any threes? can your best player be a guard who only shoots mid range jumpers?

@@chopin1975-tq3gxTS% is what’s important and SGAs was almost 64% this year. And he plays better defense than 99% of the perimeter players in the league. 35% from 3 is the same as Doncic and still good enough to ensure you won’t go around screens guarding him.

They should trade Giddey to Spurs
OKC fan fic 2k GM stuff: Giddey + 4 1sts for Curry, if GSW decides to rebuild? Giddey + 3 1sts for AD, if LeBron walks and LAL decide to rebuild? Giddey + 2 1sts & 3 2nds for Booker, if PHX decides to rebuild? 5 1sts for Giannis, if he gets tired of MIL and demands a trade?
@Kagemusha08

There's no way in hell GSW are trading Steph. Even if they're mediocre for the next couple of years they're gonna suck it up and give him the Kobe redcarpet-retirement treatment. Ditto on Booker...though could see Durant wanting out. Helping his original team win a ring would be a nice bit of redemption for his legacy. I mean it worked with Lebron.
Enough of this defensive minded Kyrie waiting to score in the second half…appreciate the effort but his Scoring is what takes this team to another level

Draymond carries himself as insightful/cerebral....he's not. Quite average takes and original thought
