    You could always use active steady shot for hand held. It crops in a bit but takes a lot more of the shakes out. And shakes are usually less noticeable if you’re shooting at a wider focal length. Another option would be the Tamron 17-70 which has image stabilization. I did a comparison between the Sigma and Tamron in this video. kzread.info/dash/bejne/d6yqzNSEopbZp84.htmlsi=s2YCq20zjDIXwieu Personally I think 35mm on an aps-c camera can be a bit tight a lot of times.

    Hey! I just got this camera and lens combo but I cannot for the life of me get the focus to work, when I try to change the focus settings it alerts that the lens isn’t compatible. Even when I manipulate the focus ring on the lens it does nothing 😅. I’m a bit of a newbie also, any advice would be unreal :)

    My Sigma 18-50 makes a little noise when focusing, I can only hear it at night. It is not very noticeable, but it is there (for example my Sony 35mm 1.8 makes no noise at all). Does your copy make also a little noise when focusing or is only mine? Cheers!

    Nothing that I've picked up on by ear or in recorded audio. But I've not had my ear directly against the lens. I wouldn't be surprised if the motor was giving off some faint "purr" when focusing. Does the sound get picked up in the audio?

    My copy actually makes quite a bit of noise, especially in continuous AF. I can't remember if it has always been like this, or if it started making noise lately... Have your lens started making more noise, or has it been the same all along?

    I have this lens and fx30 I wanted to know this lens gives the exact 18mm focal or have 1.5x crop factor?

  • @ThomasFransson

    @ThomasFransson

    19 күн бұрын

    An 18mm lens is always an 18mm lens, no matter if it's a full frame, aps-c or mft lens. It's the sensor size that attributes the crop factor. If you want to match an 18mm lens on a full frame camera in terms of field of view - you would have to take the crop factor of the FX30's aps-c sensor into consideration and use a 12mm lens - 12mm x 1.5x = 18mm

    Not likely unless it's used in that sort of environment every day. As always make sure to unpack gear and let it air after shooting in damp/rainy conditions.

    because of physics. The apsc sensor is smaller than the full fram sensor, which means this lens which was made for apsc would not even fill the whole frame on full frame. But Jason Wong did a video on showing how he uses the sigma 18-50 you might want to check that it. Because in theory you can use this lens on full frame, you just have to crop the image a bit so that it fills the frame. For video this is an even smaller problem because there most of the time the stabilzation crop is already enough to fill the frame
