Oinousses (Inousses) is a cluster of nine small islands and islets northeast of the island of Chios. It is no coincidence that numerous shipping magnates originated from here. Visitors are greeted in the harbour by a statue of the Mother of Oinousses, who escorts her children as they set sail on a sea voyage. And a bronze statue of a mermaid, with a crown and a sailing ship in her left hand, the eternal companion of sailors. There are schools of all levels of education on this peaceful little island, crowned by the Nautical Lyceum and the Merchant Marine Academy. You can visit the Maritime Museum.
