I was on the same platform as you, further up. I was waiting for a train on platform 1, in order to go to the Severn Valley Railway. So you're not the only one who captured Sir Nigel Gresley's approach and stop at Chester, for a first. I've yet to upload my own video.

Beautiful train, all of it. Nice to see Blood and Custards at their best. Those curves certainly help with getting those longer filming sequences, so looks good 👍

Very nice video, you definitely made a wise decision to go on platform 3 instead of 6. I saw the outbound at Crewe and the platforms weren't nearly as busy as I expected - Chester looked much busier

excellent catch 👍you did better than me i didn't get to film it at all a passenger train came into the station at apsley just as it was about to come in also got bowled by a container freight as the 86 rail tour was coming in at Watford junction 😡

You certainly chose the right platform there. I fancied going to Crewe but there is work on the Trans Pennine route with replacement busses. Could of come here instead.

I didn't!! As in the description, luckily I didn't stay on the platform ( 6) where I usually am.

I saw 44871 instead
