If I use 20 inch guns at all I usually use duals, they reload faster and have better accuracy, and weigh substantially less
I would hate to be the junior admiral that ordered that 20" BB to sea with such an inferior escort. The court martial will be brutal!
"You right there?" DD nodding: "Ah yes, no worries😂"
Something is wrong in the coding on 20 inch ships as they consistently miss and miss and miss despite displayed odds. For example near the end there was a 70% chance to hit. Twice all six shells missed completely. I suspect it's in the recoil coding. I think they apply the recoil as each gun fires (not turret). So on a triple, gun 1 fires, recoil, gun2 more recoil, gun3, more .. then the next turrent can't the broadside of a barn as the recoil is so bad. The odds of that is 1 in 20 million if recoil is applied after firing. So it's doing something that applies it during the sequence and this is royally missing up the chances. If it works in the way I say that the overall odds of all the misses drop to around 1 in 10 to 1 in 50 (depending on the recoil impact on first barrels).

the hit chance percentage is generally considered to be complete bullsh*t
A million DPS means nothing if doesn't hit. I rarely build ships with anything bigger than 16" guns. Sometimes I'll build an 18" super dreadnought or BC for fun, but that's about it. Refit with 4x2 17"

Yeah... 17 inchers have proved perfectly effective on the Xuegongs. A refit with 18s could also work considering that the Italians seem to have some success with them
Gotta love the rocking horse action to start the battles.
Its weird that i always see everyone having bad experiences with the 20s, ive been using them in all my past campaigns and they always performed outstandingly :0
Well, at least the 20 inches are gone
Congratulations on 50 million views, stealth - no small feat.
Stealth17 to increase the army logistics you need tonig. So big BB are best for the army.

I use owned enemy ships for fast rise and cannon fodder.

I need gin to go with the tonig.
That first battle was probably the worst case. Bad weather and no escort. Not the best situation for 20 gun
Personally in that kind of situation I would of used my DD to act as shields/targets for the enemy and do my best to get the BB out if the engagement zone
I usually don't build 20'' ships. They take forever to build and their rate of fire is usually not worth it. 18'' maybe, if they are better than the 16'' i have at the time.
Stealth can you make a new Austria-Hungary series? Its been 2 years since the last one and it was only 14 episodes or smth, or some TI because they added a lot more weapons and colonizable comets!
Selling all those show boat dd have started to bite back
Love the vids keep it up
Seems the storm debuffs only affect the player and not the AI...
Perhaps, you should invest in a pair of colorblind glasses
29:48 If you want to have DDs which are 'light cruiser killers' you should use 5.9" guns on them
I tend to avoid 20s they just create too much vibration for decent accuracy
I wonder where the Hawaii is
In the Adms. Log you said (7 x 1) "our soldiers fought with" ... soldiers. corrected with sailors later. BUT if you had soldiers manning that 20" gun BB - might explain the poor performance????
Couldn't you have gone bow in, in reverse? You were broadside most of the fight!
max gun i use is 18 inch
Maybe it’s the mod, or a bug or something, but 20 inchers are just not viable

Dear Stealth...why do you do this to yourself? As many campaigns that I have watched you play, every single 20" gunboat you have ever made have been....(how can I say this nicely....) $#IT!!!! Having watched so many of your campaigns with this game, one thing is clear. Any caliber of gun over 17.5" have been just south of garbage. Even in their MK 4-5 varients and backed up with the latest in rangefinders, radars, and veteran crews, the guns fire and reload too slow, and the shells also can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn! The worst part of course is the fact that with their slow reload times, they are left completely vulnerable against other fleets, with smaller caliber guns because they attack en mass. Not to mention that the loss of these behemoths extend the wars your in due to the massive amount of victory points it gives your enemies. My suggestion to you is this, at the first opportunity (if the campaign lasts that long) is to take ALL of your 20" gunboats back to drydock for refits of 17.5"-18" guns. By this time, you should have the MK 4-5 varients available for the switch. Reason being for these specific loadouts is simple. While not nearly as "terrifying" as 19"-20" guns, they hit just as hard, they reload a ton faster, they cost less,, leave you metric tons of weight for other additions such as armor, but most of all, in the game, they are a LOT more accurate!!! With these ships running the waves, your enemies will simply disappear as everything from a BC down to a DS are completely evicerated with 1-2 hits! Even the largest BB's with the best armor cease to be effective due to the accuracy and amounts of hits the game generates with these lower calibers. Look, I get and understand that the point of the game is to have fun. But the best part of having fun is winning! No sense in repeating the same military mistake of the US in Vietnam by tying your hands behind your back and carrying a razorblade into a gun fight!!! Either way, I still love and look forward to your videos. They make my day and are extremely entertaining!! Keep up the good work!

Because 20 inch hits are satisfying and because there are always people begging for 20 inch guns. People just want to see big guns go boom
Mate i dont get why you don't use the dont buy this. i get why from a meta POV but it does for me atleast really suck and derail the RP of the campaign.

He probably didn't use it since the destroyer if sunk would give the Italian a lot of VP since it's calculated by ship price

@@gaviantxc8213 I know, that's why I said from a meta pov I got it. Just i enjoy watching and playing games like this with a more rp minded approach and it breaks it that's all

A lot of things don't impact the AI. Like physics, economic theory, and the fog of war.
Honestly I don't like the 20's. I think they are useless they never seem to hit. I don't know if it's something in the program. But they don't hit which is very annoying.
