NIN is one Trent Reznor - he's a one man recording artist that was very influencial at the time. He was ahead of the game. The downward Spiral and the Wish EP were awesome. His first album was a lot more electronic and softer. NIN - Pretty Hate Machine was one of the first CD's i ever bought back in '89 when cassettes were declining haha.

@@dracoargentum9783 They definitely should react to NIN's original version of Hurt, which imo is much much better than Cash's (also great) cover. I wish there was something real and something true and that they had used the official video for this reaction, it's among their best ones, this song has some of Tren'ts best lyrics so the lyric video is fine, but the official video is badass for an Scorpion's Rock You Like A Hurricane ripoff video (kind of joking, but it really is a ripoff, lol). This is also one of their best live songs, the live video on Closure is also great, but any live version of Wish is usually amazing. If they react to We're In This Together or to Into The Void or to The Perfect Drug, I hope they watch the official videos, which are really good too. And they need to react to Happiness in Slavery's official video, please, I guess it's not on youtube but it must still be available on Vimeo, they can just "censor" it like they do with many videos to avoid the copyright problems, but they have to react to that one, lol. Or they could also react to the Woodstock live version, which is great, but if they go the Woodstock route they could use Reptile instead, they need to do a react video for Reptile, album version or Woodstock live version, that's one of NIN's best songs. @bradandlex

Trent Reznor's music comes on like an explosion of flavor: the first time you're shocked and numb, but after a bit you find yourself humming his riffs, and then you go back for a second dip. This time you can pick out some lyrics, and you start unraveling that his songs are all musical masterpieces; even his remixes, he is experimenting for later songs.

I highly suggest y’all watch the Woodstock 94 live recording of Wish, watching Robin shred is a sight to see. On another note…went to a house party mid 90’s, the Broken videos were playing in the background- everybody was transfixed.

This is real Industrial Rock - a genre which ran alongside of punk in the Eighties. Check out Skinny Puppy and Ministry too. Marilyn Manson is probably the epitome of the genre.

As far as we're splitting hairs, I don't think many would agree that Manson is the epitome of the sub-genre. I think Nine Inch Nails and Ministry for sure are much closer to the ontological "center" of industrial metal than Manson, and probably Skinny Puppy as well. (Side note: it's weird knowing Skinny Puppy is a major origin of industrial metal, and to then think they might actually not be as near the 'center' as I initially though). If you only listen to the Antichrist Superstar album I could maybe see labeling him industrial metal, but I feel like whatever you want to label him should reflect the goth metal, glam metal, and shock rock roots that are usually just as prevalent or more.

Nooo good lord no. Manson’s brilliant but I’d hardly class most of their music as industrial tbh. Skinny Puppy and Ministry definitely, Tin Man is absolutely amazing Manson I actually think is difficult to label, one of the reasons I love them. There’s a lot of bands that sound like NiN etc but I can’t think of a single band that sounds like Manson

Lex, My God, Girl! You just got NIN! It is chaos incarnate....but so intricate. Trent Reznor has a beautiful and very terrifying mind when it comes to crafting music. He's one of those celebrities that I would love to buy a beer for....but would not necessarily want to sit and drink it with him... 🤔😁 (Edit: Of course I would drink it with him, but it would still be somehow frightning...LOL) Brad...Dude....I'm sorry you can't pick out the intricacies of NIN. It took me a bit to appreciate Trent's music back in the late 80's and early 90's, but keep with it, it is sooooo totally worth it 👍 Might I suggest "Happiness in Slavery" off of the same album or Sin off of "Pretty Hate Machine"? Also, "Starfuckers INC." with Marilyn Manson as a groupie in the video is an interesting song as well. Anyway, thanks for all the hard work :)
