This is one of the best country voices around. Patsy had so many great hits such as "She's Got You", "Walkin' After Midnight", "Sweet Dreams", "So Wrong", "Leavin' on Your Mind", "I Fall To Pieces" "San Antonio Rose", "Blue Moon Of Kentucky", "Half As Much", "He Called Me Baby", "Faded Love" etc. She was only 31 when she died in a plane crash in 1963. In 1985 Jessica Lange starred in the movie about Patsy's life called "Sweet Dreams". "Home Free" does a great cover of "Crazy".

Ever. IMO. Ever. And at 30, her voice was still developing and getting stronger and experienced all the time. Such a huge huge loss when she passed.

Another voice of near perfection, no auto tune, no gimmicks, pure raw talent. She has many hits and it is so sad we lost her so young as I'm sure there would have been many more.

You have to appreciate the beautiful piano of Mr. Floyd Cramer in the background. He played on so many hits of this era and even played for Elvis. He also had an incredible hit with Last Date.

Patsy didn't like Willie Nelson too much. He had to sit in the car when they promoted the song to her..

They call her a country singer, but you hear elements of the blues, and jazz in her performances...the arrangement of this song 6/8 blues style is evident here...she said didn't want to sing ballads but her producer made her do it....made her a giant star...her songs often crossed over into pop charts. There is a good movie about her life made in 1985 called Sweet Dreams, starring Jessica Lange and Ed Harris. Crazy was written by a then barley known sing writer called Willie Nelson...he became a big star to everyone, not just country fans and went on tour last year at the age of 90!! I'm not much of a country music fan, but to me Willie IS country music and so many other things.

This is a classic song by Patsy, and what is really crazy is the self-blaming. Believing that you either did or didn't do something to cause another person to leave the relationship. As long as people are on this planet, many relationships will end in heartache. Patsy's voice is from the heart. The lyrics and sentiment of the song speak to those who have been at that place......

This song as most of hers was recorded at Bradley Studios with the "A" team of musicians backing along with the famous Jordanaires that also backed Elvis Presley!! I was 4 years old when I first heard this song on the car radio, I still listen to it today June 1st 2024, it will never get old!!

I was introduced to patsy cline when I was 15 years old by a classmate In high school. Mind you this was the early 1980’s. I was floored by her voice. I was hooked. I always loved r&b music from the 1950’s , 1960’s and 1970’s and didn’t particularly care for country but i didn’t consider her to be country. Her voice crossed all genres.

This song was written by Willie Nelson when he was a starving artist. Patsy had a huge hit with it, and the rest is history! You would enjoy the Home Free cover as well! Austin sings the lead in the same key as Patsy did. It's not better, but it's as good in a different way. Dive down the Home Free rabbit hole! Every song they touch is gold!

Ah, the "countrypolitan" version of this hit. Patsy Cline was a pioneer in country music. "Walking' after Midnight" is another classic, and has a bluesy feel to it that was a bit different for the times it was recorded in. BTW, I see you're taking notes on the song. I like that.

Patsy, taken away, way to soon. Wonderful singer, on that note , Tom Jones ( I'll never fall in love again ) is another song that is about a lover leaving. Now Tom is a crooner along with every other stile of singer. But that song was was recorded in 1967 ,absolutely an amazing voice.

Don't analyse the lyrics too deeply...just .enjoy the artistry... this is the 50s when this song was written, released,, when people back then sang about hurt , pain, they just sang and felt it which is why music from that age is so beautiful and not tied up so much in pyscho-analysis and bs as it is these days

With respect, I don't think that's the main thing she's saying (that she feels crazy because she's lost her love). I think what she's saying is she's crazy for having gotten involved with him in the first place when she knew exactly who and what he was, and she knew how it would end...and went ahead and got involved with him anyway. And now that what she knew all along would happen if she allowed herself to get involved with him, she feels crazy as well because even now that he did to her exactly what she knew he'd do-- dump her when he got bored and went on to the next woman-- she can't stop loving him, and (she implies), how crazy is that?
