The fortune teller does fully heal you as well, so not totally worthless.

All these years and never knew that one. Maybe the few times I ever visited the fortune teller was with full hp and that is why I didn't saw happening.

Pink being a stand-in for blond seemed to be fairly common for snes sprites. Maybe for the face to be clearer? Final fantasy did it, im playing FFV and Lenna & Farris both are blonde in their portraits and art but have pink hair in their sprites

Link has Pink hair in Link to the past because the boarder of the cap and links skin tone would make having yellow hair look moderately weird looking. from tan to blonde to the almost yellow boarder of the lower end of the cap. it wouldn't stick out. Atleast at the time i would think this is the reason they didn't make him blonde here. Hilariously this yellow boarder only exists in games where the hero died timeline from what i am seeing.

There's actually no officially known reason. From its a bug, to pallet problems to, it's because of how CRT's worked, It's all fan conjecture. An given how long it's been since the original came out, the truth has realistically just been forgotten. (in offical art from then he's only had pink hair in a small manga run, an those even today aren't considered "cannon") That said CRT TV's sound the most plausible given game makers back in the day would "balance" visuals because of them and theres people reporting his hair looked more brown then pink on old CRT's back in the day
