OG KnifeTuber Experiences Manix 2 From Spyderco For First Time!

Ойын-сауық

I started reviewing knives on KZread over 13 years ago. How have I not handled a Manix 2 before?!
The Manix 2 is a dependable, all-purpose folding knife that showcases Spyderco’s Made-in-USA quality and patented Ball Bearing Lock™. Its broad blade is precision machined from Crucible’s premium CPM® S30V® particle metallurgy stainless steel and features a full-flat grind for an exceptional balance of edge geometry and strength. Matching areas of jimping (textured grooves) on the thumb ramp and the index-finger choil complement the handle’s refined ergonomics to offer an amazingly secure, comfortable grip.

The Manix 2 is one of the best EDC knives out. It’s so good. You won’t have any issue with Spyderco’s Cruwear. I’ve got a couple in Cruwear and haven’t had a single issue. Good stuff man!👊🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔪🇺🇸

The Manix 2 XL is my favorite folder. It does everything you could ask of a folder very well. It's a great edc as well as a fantastic hard use folder. Edged perfection! 👍🏻⚔️🔥

Love the manix 2 and the xl even more. I can't believe nobody has made contoured scales for either one. Better than crossbar! And cruwear and 3v are the most stainless non-stainless steels there are

I definitely prefer the standard size Manix 2. I really like the LW model for its size to weight ratio.👌

I love the Manix 2 with AWT aluminum scales. They delete the metal liners and they have a thinner more comfortable handle/scale grip. I already love the Manix 2 but after trying those it makes the knife so much better.

I got a manix 2 light weight Salt so I could get it in Magnacut steel. I then got a flytanium cage and ball replacement and a light ball cage spring. Finally added the AWT aluminum scales with liner delete. IMO this transformed my knife into an absolute beast! The AWT’s made the knife feel so much thinner and more premium, the lighter cage ball spring dramatically improved the action, and the Magnacut blade is laser sharp!

@allenmcdonald1652 awesome, that's best way get the best Manix 2 for the money. I haven't got the Salt one yet but I plan on doing the same thing. I did one like that with a s110v that I really like.

My favourite knife from Golden. Price to performance is actually decent still and the blade finish is nicer than the standard satin finish as well (the non-coated Manix 2 has a stonewashed blade). Also has a thinner blade than the Paras. Also the Manix 2 does not have skeletonised liner making it easier to clean but also heavier than the XL in that regard.

Yea this is one of those things I’ve always considered but just never bought. I’ve only experienced the Shaman, PM2, and SpyMyto. SpyMyto being my favorite knife period for EDC. Axis style locks haven’t really been my thing though, that’s the main reason I haven’t pulled the trigger. My next axis style lock will be the fluted carbon fiber Amphibian I just ordered yesterday.

Ohhhh boy , just when I have gotten a grip on slowing down on accumulating… or buying new knives… I too a Spyderco fan … 20 years plus … buy them for my kids and friends. Delica is my favorite. Have some others … but never really looked at the Mannix. And there’s a lot I don’t know about Spyderco.. it’s just that spiderco I see as the best everyday carry for me and I do push them on folks that don’t know a lot about knives… at least it’s a good one to start out with.. for edc .. that would be the first knife I give to somebody the second would be Swiss army knife.. then perhaps a good fixed blade combat knife to keep in the bedroom… if nothing else. Some family members have gone on other knives and some have just stopped there . One nephew is really getting into heavy duty.. Hey, it’s better than spending money on alcohol and other vices for sure. Thanks for the review I just started to get into more knife channels lately…. Yours came up. I have to check more into your past ones…. Back in the old days of utube ( mid 2000’s) I was doing a search for a Camillus knife.. and nut n fancy utuber came up … I was still working and so got away from KZread a little bit … but now I’m retirement. I’m getting drawn back into it…. Great coffee break time and break time from the heat..

Ohh yeah !!! I recommended his dangerous things n bunch of others … looked at his non knife reviews a lot b/4 buying and again Spread the word of his channel… Funny thing happened about 10 years or so ago I had a couple of his patches on a knapsack at the blade show here in the Atlanta.. I’m not that skinny of a guy, kind of big… I was with my daughter at the esee raffle ( been to the show a few quite a few times 5 or 6 times I brought somebody with me… friends, my brother x 2 , my one daughter times two and her husband once ) ( and these folks won great knives at that raffle ) ( ohh the groans when my teenage daughter won the first time)… OK, going off on a tangent , but at that raffle, some guy, back of me said oh my gosh, nut n fancy!!! ( because of my patches I know what he was thinking- that I was him) .. I turned around with my biggest grin shook his hand. I told him I was glad to meet him.!!! Because being in the show and so close.. his face was little confused, trying to recognize me.. It was kind of funny… after a minute I told him no I’m just a fan like you are!!! Good laugh.

I buy knives for looks at times, but mostly I buy them for function. This is where Spyderco excels. Their heat treat is always spot on, their ergos are great, the the ball bearing lock is, in my opinion, a big improvement in the axis lock.
