I'm Chinese but I have Jewish blood from my mother's side since my great-great-grandmother was Jewish from Europe. She converted herself to Christian to avoid oppression. My family retains Jewish custom and is always proud of ourselves. This piece of music really touches the deepest part of my heart.

I grew up in Jerusalem and love this song, and Ofra Haza. Though my life path has taken me far from my home city, I listen to this song whenever I feel the need for a connection to my past and the spirit of Jerusalem. No one will ever do it justice like Ofra!!! She was a one of a kind rare gem.

What a song .What a singer. What a performance,which is melting away the soul .

Я люблю Израиль с первого его посещения в 2006, он околдовал меня , поразил. Мне было там так тепло. Сейчас приехала 3 октября и была с израильтянами 4 недели войны. Влюбилась в эту страну ещё больше. Может в прошлой жизни я была еврейкой? Иначе не могу объяснить мое отношение к происходящему. Не хотела уезжать, и война не пугала . Уехала, потому что мой сын очень переживал за мою жизнь, и ещё я работаю доктором, отпуск закончился, нужно было возвращаться. Но с сыном договорились, в апреле - я снова в Израиле. Пусть хранит господь мою любимую страну. Амэн .

The way Ofra interpreted the song, the lyrics and the melody was outstanding.She put the song first and herself last. Her so unique voice and talent gave the song the utmost regard ,recognition and respecting it deserved.

@@bellaalexander54 She passed away in 2000 due to complications from AIDS which was transmitted to her by her bisexual husband. He committed suicide after her death. Half of Israel came to her funeral.

I love this woman's voice, and this sounds like a song of worship to God and praise for Jerusalem city. I am a Christian, and I wish I that I visited Israel to walk on Jesus' steps. Love this lady, always get goosebumps and such a warmth in the heart with tears when I hear her sing....

The first time I've listened that song was at the end of Spielberg's film "The Schindler's List" and I loved it more when I've listened Ofra's performance. It's a very beautiful song. Shalom from Greece.

Beautiful. I understand it almost became the second national anthem. Along with hatikva. I was in Israel in 2009 we were finally able to go to the western wall and to the temple mount on our last day there. That trip changed my life forever I have not been the same since then.
